💥 What will you do?

The Director of Finance at Merkle Science will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring financial stability, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role involves managing the finance team, driving financial planning and analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the technology and blockchain industry.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

Financial Management:

  • Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.

  • Manage the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information and reporting.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the budgeting process and quarterly forecasting updates.

  • Monitor and analyse budget performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.

  • Provide detailed financial analysis and modelling to support strategic initiatives.

 

Compliance and Strategic Planning:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards.

  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure financial governance.

  • Partner with the executive team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to inform business decisions and strategies.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Communication

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for finance staff.

  • Manage relationships with external auditors, investors, and financial institutions.

  • Present financial reports and insights to the executive team, board of directors, and investors.

  • Communicate financial performance and strategy to internal and external stakeholders.

 👀  What are we looking for? 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience in the technology or blockchain industry is highly desirable.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.

  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems, Excel, and financial modeling.

  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
