Director, Finance Business Partner, Marketing & Strategic Investments - LAC
Overview
Operating at the intersection of strategy, finance, and marketing effectiveness, the Director, Marketing Finance & Strategic Investments leader oversees complex, multi-country budgets, drives ROI-focused investment decisions, and ensures tight alignment between local market execution and regional priorities. The role plays a critical leadership and connective role, linking markets across Latin America with broader Americas IMC strategies while enabling disciplined growth and impact.
Role• Serve as the primary strategic finance partner and thought partner to IMC LAC leadership, acting as a right hand in crafting, implementing, monitoring, and adjusting the LAC regional IMC funding and investment strategy• Lead end-to-end financial management for Marketing & Communications across LAC, with a strong focus budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning• Manage highly complex, multi-market budgets, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with regional strategic priorities• Drive cost optimization and efficiency across marketing spend, including campaigns, media, and sponsorship investments• Partner closely with Marketing, Communications, and regional leadership to provide actionable financial insights and influence investment decisions• Oversee financial governance, ensuring strong internal controls, compliance with policies, and disciplined budget management• Lead negotiations and financial oversight of external marketing, media, and sponsorship agencies to optimize commercial outcomes• Own and lead regional operating processes, including annual planning cycles, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and ongoing performance tracking forums • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations, enhance reporting capabilities, and increase organizational agility• Support evaluation and execution of new marketing investments, partnerships, and initiatives through robust financial modeling and analysis• Drive change management initiatives to improve financial rigor, standardization, and adoption of best practices across marketsAll About You• Proven experience managing complex, multi-country budgets, ideally across Latin America, within a marketing, communications, or commercial finance environment• Strong strategic mindset with demonstrated ability to shape funding strategies and influence senior leaders through data-driven insights and sound judgment • Track record of driving cost discipline while enabling effective, ROI-driven marketing investments• Experience negotiating and managing financial relationships with external agencies and partners• Advanced analytics and financial modeling capabilities, with the ability to translate complexity into clear executive-ready narratives• Demonstrated ability to lead global or regional financial reporting processes, including monthly results, forecasts, and annual planning cycles• Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership• Experience building and enhancing financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment• Proven ability to lead through change, driving adoption of new processes, tools, and ways of working• High attention to detail with strong governance and risk management mindset• Proven people leader with experience building, developing, and leading high-performing teams; committed to coaching, mentoring, and growing talent while fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment• Spanish language skills and familiarity with Latin American markets strongly preferred and considered a meaningful plus

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
