Position Summary

AIO Logic is a growth-stage SaaS fintech company seeking a hands-on Director of Finance & Accounting to build and scale the finance function during a critical expansion phase. We are specifically looking for someone who has operated in a company with fewer than 100 employees and has helped scale financial systems, processes, and controls through rapid growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role requires full ownership. The Director will personally lead month-end close, revenue recognition, and rolling cash flow forecasting while designing the structure needed to support future scale. This is not a strategic-only oversight role — it is a builder role in a fast-moving, founder-led environment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing detailed execution with strategic judgment, introducing discipline without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting, Controls & Financial Operations

  • Own and oversee the general ledger and full month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate for a scaling fintech organization.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all relevant regulatory, contractual, and audit requirements.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and expense management.
  • Build, mentor, and scale the finance and accounting function as the company grows.

Financial Reporting, FP&A & Business Insight

  • Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and executive management reporting.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.
  • Analyze financial performance, unit economics, KPIs, and trends; provide clear, actionable insights to leadership.
  • Translate financial data into business implications to support strategic decision-making.

Cash Management & Capital Planning

  • Own cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital planning.
  • Oversee banking relationships, payment platforms, and treasury operations.
  • Support capital planning, fundraising activities, due diligence, and ongoing investor reporting.
  • Partner with the CEO on runway planning, scenario modeling, and capital allocation decisions.

Systems, Process & Scale

  • Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of finance and accounting systems (ERP, payroll, expense, reporting tools).
  • Design scalable finance processes to support growth, new products, and enterprise clients.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, product, engineering, and legal to support financial workflows.
  • Drive operational discipline while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.

External & Strategic Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
  • Support contract reviews, pricing strategies, and client financial structures.
  • Prepare and present financial materials and insights for CEO, board, and investor meetings as needed.
  • Contribute to long-term financial strategy, organizational planning, and company governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including leadership responsibility.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Hands-on experience owning full-cycle accounting in a small or mid-sized organization.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in a growth-stage environment.

Preferred

  • CPA or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience in fintech, SaaS, financial services, or technology-enabled services.
  • Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and complex contract structures.
  • Experience supporting audits, investors, board reporting, and fundraising processes.

Technical Skills

  • End-to-end financial operations and accounting ownership
  • ERP and accounting systems implementation and optimization (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
  • Financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas); BI tools a plus
  • Revenue recognition and contract accounting
  • Payroll, expense management, and payment platform administration
  • Cash management, treasury operations, and banking integrations
  • Audit leadership, internal controls, and compliance documentation
  • Exposure to SOC 1 / SOC 2 environments and regulated financial operations preferred

Core Competencies

  • Financial & Accounting Expertise
  • Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Ownership & Accountability
  • Analytical & Business Judgment
  • Operational Discipline & Scalability
  • Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Integrity & Executive Presence
  • Executive & Board Communication – Ability to clearly present financial results, insights, and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors

What We’re Looking For

  • A finance leader who thrives in growth-stage environments
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on execution with director-level strategy
  • Able to build structure and credibility without slowing the business
  • A trusted thought partner to the CEO with sound judgment and high integrity
