The RoleAerospike is seeking a Director of Enterprise Sales based in New York City to drive strategic growth across key enterprise accounts in the region. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you will be responsible for acquiring and expanding high-value enterprise customers, owning complex sales cycles, and serving as a trusted advisor to executive and technical stakeholders.
This is a high-impact, quota-carrying role focused on closing large, strategic opportunities within complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities- Own and drive new logo acquisition and expansion within assigned enterprise accounts in the NYC and broader Northeast region.
- Lead complex, multi-threaded sales cycles involving technical, economic, and executive buyers.
- Develop deep expertise in Aerospike’s platform and effectively articulate its differentiated value in real-time, mission-critical environments.
- Navigate sophisticated procurement processes and negotiate large 6- and 7-figure enterprise agreements.
- Build and execute strategic account plans to drive predictable pipeline generation and revenue growth.
- Partner closely with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Alliances, Marketing, and Account Development to deliver coordinated account strategies.
- Apply disciplined qualification and forecasting methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, value-based selling) to ensure accuracy and deal integrity.
- Represent Aerospike at executive briefings, industry events, and customer engagements across the region.
- 8+ years of enterprise software sales experience, a broad network with a strong track record selling database, infrastructure, or developer-focused technologies.
- Experience selling modern distributed databases or comparable technologies (e.g., Cassandra, Couchbase, CockroachDB, Yugabyte, ScyllaDB, HBase, MongoDB, MarkLogic, etc.).
- Experience selling into financial services, fintech, adtech, media, retail, or other high-throughput industries.
- Demonstrated success closing complex 6- and 7-figure enterprise deals.
- Proven ability to navigate technical buying centers, including engineering, architecture, and DevOps stakeholders.
- Consistent history of exceeding quota in high-growth, competitive markets.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to articulate business value and ROI for complex enterprise platforms.
- Experience leveraging structured sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC and value-based selling frameworks.
- Exposure to AI/ML, real-time analytics, or mission-critical data platforms.
- US Federal Government sales experience.
- Willingness to be in Manhattan 30-50% of the time.
- A self-starter with a strong ownership mentality and drive to win.
