The Position

We’re looking for a Director of Engineering, Data Platform to lead the engineering strategy and execution for our core search platform team. You’ll own and evolve the technical foundation that powers point.me’s award pricing and availability capabilities. This role is responsible for defining and executing the strategy that makes point.me the best in the world at sourcing, distributing, and optimizing award data.

What You'll Do

  • People Leadership: Lead, coach, and manage a team of engineers, driving growth, accountability, and high performance.
  • Technical Strategy: Own the technical strategy and make key architectural decisions to position point.me as the industry leader in distributing accurate, real-time award pricing and availability data.
  • Define Success Framework: Define a strong, consistent metric framework for measuring success in our pricing and availability capability and drive improvements in those metrics.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with our commercial team to shape how search, data, and infrastructure are structured and exposed for enterprise customers.
  • Product Strategy: Act as the product manager for the platform team, prioritizing initiatives, aligning resources, and ensuring the roadmap reflects both strategic platform needs and business impact.


 

Who You Are

  • Strong track record of building, leading, and managing teams of high performing engineers.
  • Strong collaborator and communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a strong ability to simplify complex systems with clarity, precision, and influence for executives, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage expectations, build trust across the leadership team, and ensure alignment between technical direction and business priorities.
  • Energized by solving hard, ambiguous technical problems that nobody else has cracked. You think deeply about distribution, optimization, and the future of award data.
  • Strong technical point of view. You bring a clear, informed perspective on how data, systems design, and infrastructure should evolve to deliver world-class performance.
  • Ability to make architectural decisions that balance speed, accuracy, and scalability, and you can explain the “why” behind them.
  • Think beyond incremental improvement to find unconventional, high-leverage solutions to hard problems.

The anticipated salary range for this role's listed level is $200,000-$265,000.  Level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, in alignment with market data.
