Job Description: Director of eCommerce Marketing

Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
Reports To: CFO

About Us

We’re a small, driven eCommerce distributor of replacement parts—lighting, batteries, cables, sensors, and beyond—serving a growing mix of B2B and B2C customers. Our B2B clients, from large hospital systems to small businesses to technical buyers, rely on us for accurate replacements with quality parts, timely fulfillment, and a seamless online experience.

We are private equity-owned and poised to scale in 2025 and beyond. With investment backing and a growth-oriented strategy, we need a sharp, B2B-savvy marketing and lead-generation pro to build our brand and accelerate our expansion.

The Role

You’ll be our go-to person for amplifying our B2B presence and optimizing our online store. Think crafting thought leadership content that positions us as industry experts, driving targeted campaigns to win over business buyers, and fine-tuning our site to make ordering effortless. On a small team like ours, your ability to strategize, execute, and deliver results will help shape our trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Thought Leadership:

Develop strategy and oversight of paid digital marketing campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, social media ads, email marketing) to drive traffic, boost brand awareness, and increase conversion rates and sales, with a focus on B2B lead generation.

Manage and implement SEO and AI optimization efforts to improve organic search rankings for key replacement part categories (e.g., “LED lighting parts,” “replacement batteries,” “replacement sensors,” “cable solutions”).

Create, schedule and manage engaging email campaigns (promotions, product updates, newsletters) to nurture customer relationships and encourage repeat B2B purchases.

Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics, ad platforms, and eCommerce dashboards—then tweak strategies to maximize ROI.

Build a B2B content marketing engine—write blogs (e.g., “Avoiding Downtime In Medical Imaging Equipment”), develop case studies, or draft whitepapers that showcase our expertise in replacement parts.

Lead webinars and virtual events to educate business clients, demo product applications, and solidify our reputation as a trusted partner.

Own our LinkedIn strategy and social media campaigns—share insights, promote content, and connect with decision-makers like procurement managers, biomedical technicians, or maintenance pros. Partner with our Sales Professional.

Design specialized landing pages (e.g., for industry solutions or bulk ordering) to capture leads and turn B2B traffic into sales.

Shape a brand voice that’s authoritative yet approachable, resonating with technical buyers and small-business owners alike.

Full-Store Optimization:

Optimize product listings with compelling titles, detailed descriptions, high-quality images, and relevant keywords to improve visibility and conversion rates, emphasizing B2B essentials like specs and bulk pricing.

Manage product categorization and site navigation for business buyers—think filters by part type or use case, and clear paths to volume discounts or repeat orders.

Partner with the team to promote high-turnover parts, bundle solutions for common needs, and move slow inventory with smart B2B offers.

Track competitor pricing and market trends to keep us competitive for business clients without sacrificing margins.

Experiment with merchandising wins—like “industry spotlight” collections or downtime-prevention bundles—to keep our site dynamic and relevant.

eCommerce Webstore:

Oversee the daily operations of the BigCommerce platform ensuring optimal performance and user experience

Identify and address issues related to site performance, usability and functionality

What We’re Looking For

10+ years in eCommerce marketing, merchandising, or B2B digital marketing—extra points if you’ve worked with technical products or parts.

Demonstrated successful track record in growing B2B and/or B2C eCommerce business sales and profits, ideally as an entrepreneur or working hands-on for an entrepreneurial company.

Demonstrated successful track record in growing a company’s B2B and/or B2C eCommerce business sales and profits alongside the same company’s Amazon and/or other open and closed marketplace (e.g., Walmart, Zoro, etc.) channel business.

Hands-on experience creating B2B content (blogs, webinars, whitepapers) that builds trust and drives engagement.

Proficiency with B2B tools: LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, marketing automation platforms (e.g., Klaviyo), and eCommerce systems (e.g., BigCommerce, Channel Advisors, Shopify).

2+ years of experience with AI leveraging marketing systems.

SEO know-how tailored to business searches (e.g., “wholesale bulb replacements”, “specific application bulb replacements”) and a knack for turning data into action.

A strategic and detail-driven approach to merchandising paired with a creative streak for marketing that cuts through the clutter and drives traffic.

Ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced team where you’ll need to both think strategically and roll up your sleeves to execute tactically.

Bonus: Knowledge of B2B sales cycles, replacement parts (lighting, batteries, sensors, etc.), or industries we serve (e.g., healthcare/medical, manufacturing, facilities management).

Bonus: Sales and marketing of eCommerce lighting, batteries, and/or other replacement part categories, although not required, would be a plus.

Bonus: Experience working in a private equity-backed business and understanding the pace, accountability, and growth orientation it brings.

Bonus: Experience managing a high-SKU eCommerce platform, although not required, would be a plus.

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, eCommerce, or a related field preferred.
