Position Summary -

We are seeking the candidate who can perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Platform Leadership

  • Define and execute comprehensive data platform strategy encompassing multi-cloud architecture, data integration, and enterprise data management
  • Partner with executives and business stakeholders to align platform capabilities with strategic business objectives and digital transformation initiatives
  • Drive platform modernization roadmap balancing innovation, cost optimization, and operational excellence across hybrid cloud environments
  • Establish enterprise data platform governance, standards, and architectural principles for Fortune 10 scale operations

Multi-Cloud Platform Architecture

  • Architect and oversee enterprise data platforms across Microsoft Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake)
  • Lead Databricks platform optimization for advanced analytics, machine learning, and real-time data processing at petabyte scale
  • Optimize Snowflake data warehouse performance, cost management, and enterprise integration capabilities
  • Harmonize data platforms and lead the migration to cloud initiative to modernize data platforms landscape.
  • Design resilient multi-cloud data strategies ensuring business continuity, disaster recovery, and optimal resource utilization

Data Integration & Management Excellence

  • Oversee IBM DataStage operations for complex ETL/ELT processing and enterprise data transformation workflows
  • Manage IBM Change Data Capture (CDC) infrastructure for real-time data replication and streaming capabilities
  • Lead IBM Master Data Management (MDM) platform ensuring data quality, consistency, and enterprise-wide data governance
  • Optimize Matillion cloud-native data integration platform for modern analytics workflows
  • Supervise Qlik Replicate operations for high-performance data replication and synchronization across enterprise systems

Organizational & Operational Leadership

  • Build and lead high-performing team of 30+ platform engineers, architects, and technical specialists across multiple technology domains
  • Establish platform engineering excellence through DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration/deployment capabilities
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives across multi-cloud environments achieving 15-20% annual efficiency improvements
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, observability, and incident response frameworks for mission-critical platform operations

Innovation & Technology Strategy

  • Evaluate and integrate emerging data platform technologies to maintain competitive advantage and operational efficiency
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for next-generation data platforms, real-time analytics, and AI/ML infrastructure, working collaboratively with Data Science/AI/ML teams
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering teams to enable advanced use cases and platform capabilities
  • Drive technology partnerships and vendor relationships to optimize platform performance and total cost of ownership

Minimum Qualifications

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically has 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years management experience.

Critical Skills

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure data services (Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Event Hubs, Cosmos DB)
  • Experience leading platform engineering teams of 25+ professionals across multiple technology domains and geographic locations
  • Advanced proficiency with Databricks platform including Delta Lake, MLflow, cluster optimization, and enterprise security
  • Extensive experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, cost optimization, and enterprise integration
  • Expert-level knowledge of IBM DataStage development, administration, and performance optimization for enterprise ETL operations
  • Strong background in IBM CDC implementation, real-time streaming, and change data capture architectures
  • Proven experience with IBM MDM platform design, data quality management, and enterprise data governance
  • Advanced proficiency with Matillion platform for cloud-native data integration and transformation workflows
  • Extensive experience with Qlik Replicate for high-performance data replication and real-time synchronization

Additional Skills

  • Experience with P&L responsibility, technology budget management ($25M+), and ROI optimization for enterprise platforms
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data governance, regulatory compliance, and data privacy requirements across multiple industries
  • Proven ability to present complex technical strategies to board-level executives and drive organizational consensus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Atleast one or more of Professional certifications across multiple platforms: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Databricks Professional, Snowflake SnowPro Advanced, IBM Certified Professional
  • Experience in highly regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, manufacturing) with complex compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI/ML platform development and production deployment at scale
  • Previous experience at Fortune 50 companies managing similar technology complexity and organizational scale
  • International experience managing global platform operations across multiple regions and regulatory environments

Leadership Competencies

  • Strategic thinking with ability to balance long-term vision with operational excellence
  • Change management expertise for large-scale technology transformations
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences
  • Talent development focus with proven track record of building high-performing technical organizations
  • Innovation mindset with ability to drive platform evolution while maintaining operational stability

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$149,600 - $249,400
