Job Summary

In this position, the Director of Client Services will play a central role in advancing GoodPower’s mission by building and leading high-impact partnerships with the organizations, campaigns, and communities we serve. This leader will oversee the full client lifecycle, from onboarding through ongoing engagement and expansion, ensuring every partner experiences the depth of GoodPower’s expertise and the transformative potential of our work.The Director of Client Services will serve as a strategic connector between GoodPower’s internal teams and its external partners, ensuring campaigns are delivered with excellence, relationships are nurtured with care, and outcomes are measured and communicated with clarity. This role is a key driver of GoodPower’s growth trajectory as we scale to meet the demands of an accelerating energy transition.This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States. The Director of Client Services will work from home, meet regularly by video chat with GoodPower team members and partners, and conduct the majority of activities both online and in-person, when needed. The Director of Client Services must be available for travel within the United States, to participate in staff retreats, client meetings, and/or conferences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for a portfolio of key client accounts, cultivating trusted, long-term relationships with partner organizations, advocates, and campaigns across our client base.
  • Lead client onboarding processes, ensuring partners are set up for success from day one with clear expectations, defined success metrics, and a deep understanding of GoodPower’s capabilities and approach.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with GoodPower’s paid media, digital strategy, creative, and data teams to ensure client programs are executed with precision and delivered on time and within scope.
  • Develop and present regular performance reports and strategic recommendations to clients, translating campaign data into actionable insights that drive impact and strengthen the partnership.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to deepen and expand client engagements, working closely with leadership to develop proposals, scope new work, and grow GoodPower’s portfolio of mission-aligned partners.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on the policy landscape, advocacy ecosystem, and clean energy sector to bring fresh, relevant context to client conversations and campaign planning.
  • Support the development of systems, processes, and tools that enable the client services function to scale efficiently as GoodPower grows toward its 2030 strategic goals.
  • Represent GoodPower with professionalism and passion at external events, partner convenings, and industry conferences.
 Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in client services, account management, partnership development, or a closely related field, preferably within digital advocacy, nonprofit communications, or the clean energy sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex client relationships simultaneously with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience reviewing campaign performance data and translating it into strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and with external partners.
  • Familiarity with digital tools (e.g., GSuite, Slack, CRM platforms, etc.)
 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in or alongside climate, clean energy, environmental justice, or advocacy organizations.
  • Background in digital marketing or integrated communications campaigns.
  • Proven track record of growing client accounts and contributing to revenue or partnership development goals.
  • Experience building or scaling a client services or account management function within a growing organization.

Position Details

  • Annual salary range: $125,000-135,000, commensurate with experience
  • Generous benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, 403b retirement savings plan, Vacation, Sabbatical, Paid Parental Leave, 2 Floating Holidays, 2 Community Service Floating Holidays, sick time, two weeks of full-staff time off (July 4 week and Christmas-New Years week) and 13 observed holidays
