The Brown & Brown National Pharmacy Team (NPT) is a team of 200+ teammates from across Brown & Brown, including pharmacists, client service representatives, actuaries, analysts, data engineers, developers, care team coordinators and more. The NPT brought together pharmacy specialist resources from many businesses across Brown & Brown organizing our teammates into three distinct teams:

  • Pharmacy Consulting and Analytics
  • Auditing
  • PillarRx Copay Maximization

The Senior Director, Client Engagement, will play a lead role in providing consulting services across all aspects of pharmacy benefits for our National Pharmacy Team (NPT), supporting health plan clients. This client-facing role will support clients, client engagement manager (s) and internal contacts within the NPT. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day client service, project management, providing and reviewing vendor evaluations, and high level financial analysis. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Providing project management to lead Brown & Brown PBM client relationships.
    • Overseeing implementation and ongoing processes of client deliverables and projects
    • Conducting quarterly reviews with clients
    • Responding to ongoing client issues and other client/partner requirements
    • Participate in vendor management activities including escalation and resolution of issues on behalf of client
    • Development of project plans taking into consideration the overall team and client expectations
    • Coordination of RFPs, renewals, and market check projects for assigned client relationships
  • Manage client engagement teammate within NPT
    • Engage in recruiting and selection process
    • Provide mentorship and training
  • Support the pharmacy analytics department in drug claims data analysis involving pharmacy client relationships and projects. Including but not limited to:
    • Detailed analysis of pharmacy utilization and financial performance to provide key insights to clients for trend management
    • Using reporting and output to identify key areas of focus, costs and trends to research and question data further
    • Providing commentary and recommendations based on the results to clients on an ongoing basis
    • Peer reviewing analyses for quality assurance
    • Coordination with PBMs and external vendor partners to receive necessary data, information and responses
    • Adhering to project timelines including requests and follow up to ensure all data is received according to project plans
    • As a part of renewals, RFPs, and market checks – perform contract review and negotiation with selected PBMs and vendor partners
  • Assist in organic growth goals through sales opportunities with NPT and existing clients.
    • Upsell of additional pharmacy services and pursue cross-sell referrals to broader Brown & Brown departments for non-pharmacy services opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in similar role including health care or pharmacy benefit management experience
  • Robust project management, organizational and communication skills – written and verbal
  • Experience with consulting or Pharmacy Benefit Management preferred
  • Strong technical background and proficient computer skills – Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Project Planning
  • Proficient critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter attitude with ability to work independently or in team setting
  • Very detail oriented with ability to self-prioritize
  • Ability to travel, including overnight, as needed for client meetings/functions

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, specifically Executive level decision makers
  • Experience in pharmacy benefit management strategy development. 
  • Familiarity with both pharmacy and medical data. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with Qlik, Tableau or similar business intelligence tools. 

Pay Range

160000 - 170000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
