What We Need:
Synapse Health is looking for a sharp, strategic, and detail-oriented leader to join our high-performing finance & analytics team. As a Director, Business Insights & Analytics, you will oversee the development of robust analytics frameworks, dashboards, and insights to optimize medical necessity, reduce waste, ensure compliance, and support clinical decision-making. In this role, you’ll transform data into insights that shape the future of our business. You’ll be at the heart of key initiatives, from building sophisticated models to uncovering trends in utilization. What You Will Do:
- Define and execute the analytics roadmap for utilization management, aligned with clinical and operational goals.
- Lead a team of analysts and data scientists focused on driving insights from claims, authorization, and operational data.
- Partner cross-functionally with clinical, operations, finance, and compliance teams to align data solutions with business needs.
- Build and maintain analytical models that assess over/under-utilization, provider trends, medical necessity, and patient outcomes.
- Evaluate prior authorization outcomes, denials, appeals, and related KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
- Track vendor/provider performance and assist in contract analytics tied to UM metrics and service-level agreements.
- Collaborate with IT/data engineering to improve data pipelines, sources, and the structure of DME-related datasets.
What You Have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Health Informatics, Public Health, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive analytics experience, with 3+ years in a healthcare
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with analytics platforms (e.g., Python, R, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Sigma)
- Proven experience in claims analysis, medical policy interpretation, and UM analytics.
- A sharp analytical mindset and the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills — you're comfortable translating financial concepts for non-financial audiences.

- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or membership-based business models.
- Background in pricing strategy, financial modeling for services, or managing fee schedules.
- Familiarity with fraud detection analytics or utilization analysis within a regulated or healthcare environment.
