Director, Benefit Consultant Relations

Marvin is a company on a mission to end healthcare worker burnout. Marvin partners with many of the country's top hospitals, including Cedars-Sinai, Jefferson Health and Geisinger in Pennsylvania, and the Harvard Department of Psychiatry, to provide a proprietary mental health care platform for their physicians, nurses, and staff.

We are seeking a Director, Benefit Consultant Relations to build and own Marvin's relationships with the national and regional benefits consulting and brokerage firms who influence which behavioral health partner health systems bring to the table. Reporting to the VP of Sales and Partnerships, this individual will build trust with consultants and brokers at firms like Aon, Mercer/Marsh, WTW, Lockton, Alliant, and Gallagher, position Marvin as the credible, healthcare-specific behavioral health partner in RFPs and renewals, and convert consultant advocacy into qualified pipeline for the sales team. The ideal candidate will bring existing consultant and broker relationships, experience supporting RFP and finalist processes from the consultant side of the table, and comfort building a channel program without an established playbook.

We would prefer applicants from Denver, Los Angeles, or New York but will consider other highly qualified applicants from around the country. This position will require travel for consultant meetings, finalist presentations, and industry events (est. 30–40%).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and formalize relationships with strategic consultants and brokers, with priority on named national and regional firms (Aon, Mercer/Marsh, WTW, Lockton, Alliant, Gallagher, and others).

  • Own consultant and broker education and enablement, ensuring partners understand Marvin's differentiation as healthcare-specific behavioral health infrastructure and can represent Marvin's proof points accurately to the market.

  • Coordinate RFP and finalist support with consultants, ensuring Marvin is included in relevant health system searches and that consultant-facing materials stay current and accurate.

  • Feed consultant and broker market intelligence back to sales, marketing, and product, surfacing competitive positioning, pricing benchmarks, and client feedback from the channel.

  • Build the enablement materials, relationship tracking, and reporting cadence for the consultant channel from the ground up.

  • Represent Marvin at consultant and broker regional and national events, office-based meetings, and industry conferences to build brand presence and expand influence.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10-15 years of experience in consultant relations or working at a consultancy, strategic alliances, or channel partnerships within health benefits, digital health, or behavioral health, with a minimum of 3 years and demonstrable named consultant or broker relationships.

  • Demonstrated relationships with several national or regional consulting/brokerage firms (Aon, Mercer/Marsh, WTW, Lockton, Alliant, Gallagher, or equivalent).

  • Experience supporting RFP, RFI, and finalist processes from the consultant/broker side of the table.

  • Experience building consultant-facing enablement materials, such as one-pagers, comparison guides, and finalist decks.

  • Proven ability to convert consultant and broker relationships into qualified, revenue-generating pipeline, not just relationship maintenance.

  • Experience selling or partnering with health system or large employer executives, and with benefits and risk management teams.

  • Comfort operating without an established playbook in an early-stage company.

  • Significant experience and comfort using AI tools.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships at all levels of a consulting or brokerage firm.

  • Strong ethical and professional integrity, with a commitment to upholding the organization's values and standards.

COMPENSATION

The base salary for this role is $200,000. This role includes a generous base salary, with a bonus of $20,000 tied to consultant-sourced pipeline and bookings targets. Compensation also includes equity in the company, consistent with Director-level grants at Marvin. Actual base pay within the range will depend on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
