Job Purpose and Impact
  • The Director of Application Development will create and execute the Digital Technology and Data Strategy for Cargill Animal Nutrition and Health's (ANH) North America business, aligning with the Americas Regional strategy, while also considering the needs of the market and the customers served. It is responsible for maintaining, integrating, and implementing software applications within North America. This role will partner with business and digital technology leadership to develop and prioritize a business strategy aligned investment portfolio, and it will lead a diverse and global team, proving guidance on software application testing, quality assurance, master data maintenance, configuration, installation, and support to ensure smooth, stable, and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications.

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for developing and executing the ANH North America application and data strategy in alignment with the business's goals.
  • Leads the execution and develops strategies for application configuration to align with business's goals.
  • Provides oversight for release management processes and programming, configuration, testing and deployment of fixes or updates for application version releases.
  • Establishes an open channel of communication with business leadership and provides broad oversight and guidance on application support requests and needs.
  • Leads the team to conduct advanced and complex application support activities to deliver on business outcomes.
  • Identifies and drives engagement with key internal and external partners, understanding their needs and value drivers, and maintaining effective communication to ensure alignment and business success.
  • Develops broad reviews on incoming incident tickets and user requests to ensure prioritization in accordance to service level agreements.
  • Fosters positive relationships with software vendors and negotiates relevant contracts.
  • Tracks the performance of configured applications and makes adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reviews and approves recommended improvements for moderate to advanced and highly complex application specific support processes and procedures.
  • Manages team members to achieve the organization's goals, by ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience in Application Configuration Management, Development and Deployment
  • Experienced in User Communication and Application Support
  • Expertise with Stakeholder and Vendor Management

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ Years relevant work experience
  • 5+ Years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with Animal Health and Nutrition
  • Competent in leading and managing a global team
  • High aptitude in thinking strategically and incorporating business needs into technical roadmaps

Short Description
External Posting: Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
The expected salary for this position is $148,000- $202,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
