Job Purpose and Impact
  • The Director, Application Data & Cloud Security job leads the execution of the tactical and strategic plans related to the strategic design, implementation and oversight of security tools and processes across development, security and operations, software as a service or platform as a service, and multi-cloud environments. This job leads and guides the team responsible for ensuring the security of enterprise wide cyber systems and networks, safeguarding data integrity and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Key Accountabilities
  • SECURITY FRAMEWORKS: Leads and guides the design and implementation of development, security and operations tools and processes as well as multi-cloud control capabilities to improve security posture.
  • SECURITY CONTROLS: Leads and guides the design and operation of software as a service or platform as a service security controls to protect applications and data in cloud environments, and ensures appropriate implementation, transparent communication and enforcement of policies and standards.
  • DATA PROTECTION: Leads and guides data lineage, data protection and flow controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulations.
  • CYBERSECURITY MEASURES: Oversees and guides the cybersecurity delivery to safeguard enterprise applications and data, assessing and preparing for potential risks.
  • PERFORMANCE MONITORING: Oversees performance monitoring to assess security measures' effectiveness and efficiency and identify areas for improvement, identifying systemic compliance gaps and root causes resolution and proposing improvement options, including cost benefit analysis.
  • DATA PRIVACY FUNCTIONS: Cultivates operational engagement with the data privacy function during incidents to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.
  • QUALITY ASSURANCE TESTING: Leads quality assurance testing and delivery of continuous improvements to security processes and tools.
  • PERFORMANCE METRICS: Leads and guides the quantification, preparation and communication of metrics related to business and functional performance against objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and security standards.
  • COLLABORATION: Nurtures collaboration with cybersecurity peers, data privacy partners, external experts, industry consortia, and other internal and external teams to ensure data protection fundamentals are effective and efficient and business objectives are delivered.
  • TEAM MANAGEMENT: Manages team members to achieve the organization's goals, by allocating resources, ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable, supporting employee development, recognizing achievement and lessons learned, and developing enabling conditions for talent to thrive in an inclusive team culture.

Qualifications
  • Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.
