Who We Are

Scratch Financial (“Scratch”) is a late stage venture-backed financial technology business based in Pasadena, California. At Scratch, everything starts and ends with our mission: being the payment partner of choice for veterinary practices and helping pet parents access the care their animals need without financial barriers. Driven by our award-winning technology, Scratch has become the fastest growing financing provider in veterinary care, with a partner network of 15,000+ practices across the U.S. and Canada.

Scratch has 2 main products:

  1. Scratch Pay: Point-of-sale client facing lending, including a BNPL offering and longer-term payment plans
  2. Scratch Checkout: Payment processing that is integrated with the veterinary practice management software

We are a company built on the foundation of transforming the way pet healthcare payments are done, and we are looking for innovators who share our commitment to shaping the future of veterinary care financing. If putting compassion first, helping tell the story of groundbreaking products and continuously learning & refining to achieve exceptional outcomes sounds like you, then we encourage you to apply.

Position Overview

Scratch is seeking a Director of Analytics to lead and scale the analytics function powering our two commercial engines: payments (Scratch Checkout) and B2B2C lending (Scratch Pay). This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Risk, and Finance to translate data into pipeline, conversion, and unit economics gains.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring fluency in commercial analytics, experimentation design, and CRM/data infrastructure. The Director of Analytics will own the analytics supporting go-to-market execution for our payments business and the testing & personalization roadmap that drives borrower conversion and LTV in our lending business.

What You'll Do

Commercial Analytics & Go-to-Market Support

  • Serve as the analytics partner to Sales and Marketing leadership for the Scratch Checkout payments business, owning pipeline analytics, funnel diagnostics, territory and segmentation analysis, and pricing/economics modeling.
  • Build and maintain the source-of-truth reporting layer for partner acquisition, activation, and retention.
  • Translate commercial questions into structured analyses that drive decisions on territory design, quota setting, channel mix, lead scoring, and partner lifecycle programs.
  • Quantify the revenue impact of marketing investments and sales motions, partnering with Marketing on attribution, campaign measurement, and ROI frameworks.

Data Infrastructure & Function Building

  • Set the analytics technology and tooling strategy in partnership with Engineering and Commercial peers, including BI platforms (e.g., Sigma, BigQuery), experimentation tooling, and CRM/marketing automation data flows.
  • Establish standards for data quality, definitions, documentation, and AI-driven self-service enablement so business stakeholders can answer their own questions where appropriate.
  • Define the go-forward analytics operating model to ensure the team is focused on the highest-leverage commercial questions.
  • Translate company growth goals into quarterly and annual analytics roadmaps with clear deliverables and measurable business impact.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing, high-potential analysts.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish quarterly KRs within our OKR framework, with an eye towards professional development aligned to business outcomes.
  • Set clear goals, briefs, success metrics, and accountability frameworks for any external analytics partners or vendors.
  • Support the team within Scratch’s culture of Owning Outcomes, Getting it Right over Being Right and Driving Innovation with an Eye towards Efficiency.
What We Are Looking For
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in commercial, growth, or business analytics roles, ideally in B2B, B2B2C, or two-sided marketplace environments.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing senior individual contributors.
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable commercial outcomes — pipeline, conversion, retention, or unit economics — through analytics and experimentation.
  • Deep experience designing and reading out A/B tests and personalization programs in a consumer-facing or B2B2C product.
  • Strong fluency with modern data stacks: SQL, dbt, cloud warehouses (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift), and BI platforms (e.g., Sigma, Tableau, Looker).
  • Hands-on experience integrating analytics with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to support go-to-market execution.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Risk, and Finance, and translating between technical and commercial audiences.
  • Background in FinTech, Payments, Lending, HealthTech, Animal Health, or regulated industries preferred.
Why You'll Love Working Here
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $180,000 - $200,000
