About the role:
Gartner analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have insight and provide advice to a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Director, Analyst possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems and solutions within the market they serve, and help clients make better decisions relative to their highest business priorities. As an analyst, you will bring Gartner's best practices, and tools to life across a broad range of world class clients. Key areas of coverage will be in agentic AI networking technologies that allow infrastructure and IT operations groups to drive automation, innovation, and lay the foundation for continued success and growth. Knowledge (and intellectual curiosity) in areas such as agentic AI, network operations, and network automation are important. You will apply your broad knowledge of technologies, vendors, processes, and best practices to provide actionable insights to our clients.
What you will do:

  • Research, analyze and predict expected (and foresee unexpected) market trends and shifts to provide end-user organizations and vendors with actionable insights.

  • Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within the specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas of emerging technologies.

  • Collaboratively write and publish analysis and positions at a regular cadence through evidence-based research

  • Communicate complex concepts concisely and with authority via virtual or face-to-face interactions with senior-level executives.

  • Present at multiple conferences as an industry expert.

  • Partner with sales and service delivery partners to increase account growth, retention, and engagement

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.

  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise networking, AI-driven network operations, or related IT domains, including hands-on exposure to the integration of AI and automation within large-scale enterprise network environments.

  • Expertise in agentic AI models and AI‑enabled network architectures, including autonomous remediation, intent-based networking, policy orchestration, and AI-driven network optimization.

  • Knowledge of agentic AI networking offerings from established vendors (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks and HPE) and emerging vendors (e.g., Aviz Networks, Selector.AI, Linkeye.ai, NetPrompt.ai, and Nanites.ai).

  • Ability to analyze and articulate technology and business adoption scenarios, helping senior IT leaders understand the opportunities, risks, and implementation paths for emerging AI-centric networking technologies.

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including WAN connectivity, network architecture/design, network security principles, and strong familiarity with data center networking and cloud edge architectures.

  • Strong working knowledge of SASE, SSE, NaaS, SD‑WAN, and evolving cloud connectivity paradigms

  • Understanding of networking‑specific security frameworks, including Zero‑Trust principles, identity-driven policy enforcement, and AI-enhanced detection and response models.

  • Familiarity with global service provider offerings, major vendor ecosystems, and emerging AI‑native networking platforms and startups.

  • Broad understanding of market and technology drivers, including cloud migration, distributed enterprise, edge computing, application modernization, and the evolving role of AI agents in autonomous enterprise infrastructure.
