Job Summary

Barings is building an enterprise AI platform to enable the safe, scalable, and governed adoption of AI agents and AI-powered solutions across the organisation. We are seeking an AI Platform Manager to own the end-to-end operation, evolution, and governance of this platform as it moves from build into adoption and scale.

This role is accountable for platform coherence across a hybrid ecosystem that includes multiple Agent development platforms and runtimes including selected third-party AI tools. The AI Platform Manager will act as the central coordinator across cloud, data, integration, security, identity, and application platform teams, ensuring alignment with the enterprise AI reference architecture, governance frameworks, and regulatory obligations.

The successful candidate will combine platform ownership, stakeholder coordination, and pragmatic delivery leadership, enabling teams to build and operate AI capabilities without compromising security, cost control, or compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end AI platform lifecycle, including roadmap, operating model, adoption strategy, and continuous improvement aligned to the enterprise AI reference architecture.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for the AI platform, coordinating across infrastructure, cloud, data, security, identity, integration, and application platform administrators.
  • Govern and manage a hybrid AI tool ecosystem spanning Microsoft-native platforms and approved third-party AI tools.
  • Define and operate platform guardrails covering access control, cost management, usage monitoring, model selection, tool onboarding, and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure responsible AI, regulatory alignment, and audit readiness in partnership with enterprise risk and compliance teams.
  • Oversee AI gateway and control-plane capabilities including usage tracking, rate limiting, observability, logging, and chargeback mechanisms.
  • Establish clear RACI models for platform ownership versus domain ownership.
  • Enable safe self-service AI development across low-code and pro-code tooling.
  • Own platform-level standards, documentation, and onboarding playbooks.
  • Support demand management, prioritisation, and platform fit assessment for AI use cases.

Qualifications

  • Experience owning or operating enterprise technology platforms.
  • Strong cross-team coordination skills in complex enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of AI platforms, agent-based architectures, and AI services.
  • Experience working in regulated or governance-heavy environments.
  • Knowledge of platform cost management, usage monitoring, and chargeback models.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft AI ecosystem including Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and Databricks.
  • Familiarity with AI gateway patterns, zero-trust architecture, and identity-centric access controls.
  • Understanding of Responsible AI, data classification, and AI risk management.
  • Experience operating platform observability and usage analytics.
  • Background in multi-vendor or hybrid platform environments.
  • AI & Agent Platforms: Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry
  • Data & MLOps: Databricks, Azure SQL, ADLS, Azure AI Search
  • Cloud & Integration: Microsoft Azure, API Management, Containers
  • Identity & Security: Azure Entra ID, Key Vault, RBAC
  • Observability & Governance: Logging, usage analytics, cost dashboards
  • This is a platform ownership and coordination role, not a hands-on model development position.
  • Success is measured by adoption, safety, scalability, and sustainability of the AI platform.
  • Works closely with architects and engineers while remaining accountable for crossplatform alignment.
  • Experience within financial services, asset management, or other regulated industries is strongly preferred. Familiarity with enterprise-scale operating models and shared services environments is beneficial.
