As Genesis continues to scale the industry’s most advanced molecular AI platform, GEMS, our relationships with leading AI organizations as well as our high-performance compute capacity serve as critical engines enabling us to train ever larger foundation models and deploy them at scale for industrial screening workloads.

We are looking for a seasoned operator who can navigate the volatile landscape for advanced AI chips, negotiate high-stakes complex multi-million dollar deals, forge transformational research collaborations and secure investment opportunities from leading AI organizations to accelerate AI research velocity at Genesis. This is a high-impact, business-led role that owns the end-to-end lifecycle of our critical AI infrastructure investments and strategic relationships with key technology partners as well as current and potential AI investors (from a16z to NVIDIA).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Genesis' partnership with NVIDIA and pursue additional strategic collaborations with leading AI organizations, including creative contract structures, equity investments, technical optimizations, co-publication opportunities, and data partnerships for access to or generation of public/proprietary experimental and synthetic data at scale

  • Prepare materials articulating Genesis' platform vision and technology differentiation for current and potential AI partners and investors, and integrate themes / key narratives into Genesis’ broader external communications activities

  • Serve as business lead and primary negotiator for all major cloud computing and AI infrastructure deals, securing high-end AI compute capacity at competitive rates and owning relationships with key AI partners

  • Continuously evaluate the AI computing market, assessing trade-offs in cost, reliability, and availability across existing and prospective cloud providers to support AI research and platform deployment

  • Partner with ML Engineering to forecast compute requirements across foundation model training, synthetic data generation, fine-tuning, and industrial-scale inference, optimizing performance and spend across multi-cloud environments and tracking utilization to maximize infrastructure value

  • Drive the internal budget process for all compute spend, translating capacity plans into financial models across multiple time horizons including long-range corporate planning, and present recommendations to leadership on infrastructure capital allocation

Who you are:
  • AI Partnerships: 8+ years of industrial experience in external facing strategic roles partnering with AI cloud infrastructure providers and AI hardware leaders (e.g., strategic partnerships / business development in a high-growth AI organization, or venture capital / top-tier management consulting working with AI leaders)

  • Advanced degree: MBA or other advanced degree in a STEM field from a top institution, or equivalent industrial experience; curiosity and willingness to learn emerging computational workflows for drug discovery are essential

  • Experienced Negotiator: Proven track record of leading complex, multi-year AI compute deals (buy-side or sell-side), and demonstrated success in securing substantial investments for scaling AI

  • Executive-level Communications: Exceptional written presentation skills, with a proven ability to level up complex technical and financial analyses for executive decision-making and build AI-oriented pitch decks for investors / partners

  • Technically Fluent: A deep technical understanding of the AI computing landscape, including next-generation GPU / TPU chip architectures, high-performance networking considerations, and the evolving provider and partner ecosystem

  • Financial Architect: Expert-level financial modeling skills and direct experience with strategic capacity planning and evaluating AI computing contract structures, including flexible capacity, reserved instances, and complex commitment models

  • Strategic Operator: Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments
