Job Summary:
This is a unique opportunity to help us grow our Advisory services. This position will serve as a relationship manager with a strong financial acumen and ability to communicate investment and balance sheet strategies to the client.
Responsibilities: The Director is accountable for managing the firm’s financial depository client relationships. As part of this relationship, the Director is responsible for possessing a diverse skill set essential for fostering strong client connections and ensuring exceptional service:
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of the full banking model, including credit risk, liquidity risk, and interest rate risk
- Design and implement capital allocation strategies aligned with client objectives and risk appetite
- Knowledge of hedging applications for financial institutions, including risk mitigation and spread enhancement, with the ability to partner effectively with specialized teams
- Comprehensive understanding of banking regulations and ability to incorporate compliance considerations into strategic recommendations.
- Ability to distill complex market data into actionable insights that drive balance sheet optimization and strategic value creation for financial institutions.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences (boards, ALCOs, conferences)
- Ability to simplify complex financial concepts for client understanding
- Maintain and expand market knowledge to educate clients on economic and market changes
- Thought leadership demonstrated through industry speaking engagements and content creation
Relationship Management Skills
- Serve as a trusted advisor and relationship manager for financial depository clients
- Ensure a smooth onboarding process and deliver exceptional ongoing service to consistently meet client needs
- Consult with clients on balance sheet strategies tailored to their risk appetite
- Collaborate with internal specialized groups to deliver integrated solutions
- Conduct annual client visits and maintain ongoing engagement
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a depository-focused role
- Client-facing experience
- Broad knowledge of the banking business model with demonstrated experience creating value through a strategic vision
Minimum Education Qualification:
- Undergraduate degree.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to move about inside and outside of the office
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to effectively communicate.
Work Environment:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/work environment
