We are looking to add a Director of Advisor Services to our team here at Wealth Enhancement. This person is responsible for the execution of strategies that empower the Advisor Teams to deliver the best possible financial advice.  Focus is on Engagement, Development, Practice Optimization and Organic Growth.  This role drives firm and professional growth by engaging financial advisor teams as a consultant/advocate for sales management goals, operational optimization, and personal development to integrate/train/develop the advisors/planners/client service professionals.

Primary Job Functions

Advisor Engagement:  Works with Advisor Leads on

  • Roundtable initiatives to ensure they understand trends and issues

  • Participating in Advisory Committees

Organic Growth:  Works with the Advisor Leads to Increase Sales / Net Flows

  • Works to determine corporate / team objectives and aligns Advisor Leads in meeting team sales goals and metrics

  • Increases net flows, by analyzing networking and closing skills, and providing sales coaching and training to find and close leads

Practice Optimization:  Works with Advisor Leads to facilitate achievement of advisory team business plans

  • Works with Advisor leads to determines the metrics/reporting/business plans to achieve goals and maximize team growth objectives

  • Utilizes metrics to evaluate office processes and develop plans to improve practice efficiency

  • Assists with developing annual regional budgets, monitors and reports on business results

  • Leverages knowledge of Central Services specialists, Planning, Investments, Tax, Insurance, to assist in providing financial advice to close and retaining clients

  • Drives team to adopt best practices, centralized WEG processes, and practice operations

  • Acts as the Voice of the Advisor to share ideas and improvement suggestions to the corporate office; solicits requirements for enhanced client experience delivery (technology & process)

Advisor & Team Development:  Provide consultative, leadership to Advisor Leads

  • Creates trust-based relationships and maintains a positive, collaborative work environment through regular 1:1 meeting with teams leads

  • Assists the Advisor Lead in building a strong skilled team of professionals and creates a collaborative and engaging work environment for team members

  • Assesses skill levels and training needs of Advisors and team employees

  • Partners with other Advisors (mentors) and corporate staff on development plans/training, career paths & promotions

  • Identify and resolve issues; escalate to management as needed

Supports the implementation of corporate programs and facilitates change management activities

Facilitates corporate program rollouts, assist the Advisor Leads to understand the programs and educates the teams:

  • Technology – In coordination with corporate teams, implements changes to WEG process and ensure all required training is complete and new processes adopted

  • Marketing - Assists in the execution of the marketing plan, reinforces the marketing strategies & reports on marketing results and key metrics to staff

  • Operations, Compliance & Facilities – ensure SOPs are followed; performs oversight and collects compliance related materials when necessary

  • Finance / HR – partners with corporate in budget/forecast development; manage and explain actual vs. budget and business result variances; ensure office complies with Finance operating procedures; assist HR with recruiting, new hire onboarding, open enrollment, performance management and personnel policies; assists and coaches new managers

Education/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 10+ years wealth management advisory practice experience, 5 years management experience

  • CFP designation preferred

  • Ability to manage operations across a multi-state region, up to 20% travel

  • Strong understanding of wealth management business operations; possesses technical expertise in at least two of the following areas: financial planning, client acquisition, marketing, practice management, business operations; project management

  • Demonstrated success in leading and influencing others without direct positional power 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills – including networking, negotiating and conflict resolution

  • Detail oriented; ability to prioritize work and projects; able to work with deadlines

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Tamarac / Orion preferred

  • Positive solution-focused attitude
