Overview

Compound Planning is a high-growth digital family office with over $4B in AUM added since 2022. We serve entrepreneurs, professionals, and retirees with a powerful combination of personalized financial advisory and a proprietary technology platform. Our cross-functional team of advisors, tax experts, engineers, and operators is building the financial institution of the future.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Director of Advisor Recruiting to lead outreach and relationship development with breakaway advisors and RIA teams across the country. This is a senior role for someone who has already spent years navigating the nuances of complex recruiting and sales cycles and may have significant experience with protocol and non-protocol transitions, understands what matters most to financial advisors serving HNW clients, and knows how to manage a thoughtful, multi-step decision process.

You’ll own the entire advisor recruitment engine - from first conversation to transition planning - working closely with our growth team and senior leadership. This role requires strong strategic instincts, exceptional communication skills, and a consistent ability to build trust with experienced advisory professionals. You’ll represent Compound in the market, deepen our presence across industry communities, and help shape the future of our growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Own Compound’s nationwide advisor recruiting strategy, managing outreach, pipeline development, and long-term relationship cultivation.

  • Build trust with advisory teams and guide them through exploration, due diligence, and transition planning.

  • Improve and maintain a clear, structured recruiting process that keeps candidates engaged and moving forward.

  • Develop and expand Compound’s presence within advisor networks, conferences, custodians, and centers of influence.

  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Operations, Legal) to ensure smooth transitions for incoming advisors.

  • Bring market intelligence and advisor feedback back to leadership to help shape future product, service, and growth initiatives.

  • Represent Compound as a knowledgeable, credible partner in conversations with seasoned advisors considering a new home for their practice.

What You Bring
  • 5–7+ years of experience in sales roles or financial services, ideally in roles that work directly with advisory firms (RIA recruiting, RIA M&A, sales & trading, wholesaling, insurance distribution, custodian relationship management, or similar).

  • Proven success leading advisors/advisory teams through structured decision processes and landing high-quality commitments.

  • Hands-on experience managing both protocol and non-protocol breakaways.

  • Deep understanding of independent advisory firms, including business models, client expectations, and common breakaway considerations.

  • Strong relationship-building instincts, with a long-term, consultative approach to business development.

  • High energy, clear communication, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-growing, constantly evolving environment.

  • Strategic mindset with the discipline to manage a robust pipeline and keep multiple conversations moving at once.

What It’s Like to Work at Compound

Compound operates with integrity, communicates with transparency, and takes accountability seriously. You’ll work closely with high-performing colleagues across functions - advisory, engineering, tax, and operations - who hold themselves, and each other to a high bar. It’s a culture built for people who want to move fast, build something that lasts, and all aligned around a shared mission.

The $84 trillion wealth transfer happening over the next few decades will reshape the financial landscape. Compound is building for that future - and the Director of Advisor Recruiting will be a key player in shaping how we get there.
