The Director, Access Enablement is responsible for leading the strategy, structure, and execution of access enablement across Tryon Medical Partners. This role drives the design and advancement of systems, processes, and capabilities that support patient access, including digital access, workforce management, clinician template strategy, and performance enablement.
This role serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and is accountable for aligning cross-functional stakeholders, establishing departmental direction and priorities, and ensuring sustainable, scalable access solutions that improve patient experience and operational performance.
The Director leads through others, owning outcomes across the function and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.

This role is not eligible for full-time remote work. Candidates must be onsite 100% during onboarding to ensure a strong start. The potential to transition to a hybrid schedule may be considered.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Strategy & Access Enablement Leadership
  • Owns departmental strategy, structure, and outcomes for access enablement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and access strategy
  • Sets direction, priorities, and performance standards for access enablement initiatives, including digital access, workforce optimization, and access workflow design
  • Leads the development and execution of long-term access strategies that improve patient access, clinician efficiency, and overall operational performance
  • Advises executive leadership on access strategy, capabilities, and system-level opportunities to enhance access and patient experience
  • Drives alignment across clinical, operational, and technology leaders to ensure cohesive and effective execution of access initiatives
Access Systems, Optimization & Performance Enablement
  • Leads the design and optimization of access systems, including clinician scheduling strategies, capacity management, and workforce planning
  • Establishes frameworks and standards for access workflows to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational effectiveness
  • Oversees development and advancement of digital access, automation, and enabling technologies that support patient access goals
  • Defines and monitors key performance indicators, ensuring visibility into access performance and progress against organizational objectives
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce barriers to access, and improve patient and clinician experience
Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution
  • Leads cross-functional alignment across operations, clinical leadership, and technology teams to ensure successful implementation of access strategies
  • Partners with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and ensure execution of key strategic priorities
  • Identifies system-level barriers and drives resolution of complex or structural challenges impacting access performance
  • Ensures coordination and integration across functions to support sustainable and scalable access solutions
  • Leads large-scale initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring delivery of expected outcomes and long-term impact
Financial Stewardship & Decision-Making
  • Owns high-level decision-making related to access enablement strategy, including budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term planning
  • Evaluates investment opportunities and prioritizes initiatives based on organizational impact, cost, and scalability
  • Ensures responsible stewardship of resources while advancing strategic access goals
People Leadership & Organizational Accountability
  • Provides full people leadership for team(s), department(s), or manager(s), including hiring, performance management, coaching, corrective action, and terminations
  • Sets priorities for the function and approves key decisions impacting access enablement strategy and execution
  • Leads and develops leaders and team members to build capability, engagement, and long-term organizational strength
  • Holds teams accountable for performance outcomes and ensures alignment with departmental and organizational objectives
  • Establishes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the access enablement function

Education and Experience
Required
  • Significant experience in healthcare operations, access, or related leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, with experience influencing executive-level stakeholders
  • Experience leading leaders and/or multiple teams, with accountability for outcomes through others
Preferred
  • Experience with patient access operations (e.g., scheduling, referrals, contact center)
  • Experience with workforce management, clinician scheduling strategy, or access optimization
  • Experience with healthcare technology, digital access tools, or automation solutions

Physical Requirements
  • Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds.
  • Ability to concentrate on details.
  • Use of computers for long periods of time.
