About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Associate Director, Data Stewardship to lead the transformation of our digital media data operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality, structure, and reliability of our content and data assets—spanning websites, social platforms, video, and more—and delivering this data in ways that scale and create value for our customers and products.
You’ll lead a globally distributed team and serve as a driving force behind data governance and standards, operational efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement. This role blends leadership, domain knowledge, and stewardship responsibility to build a proactive, insight-driven, and scalable data function. You will play a critical role in contributing to enhance data governance success through best-in-class ownership and stewardship practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesStewardship & Operational Excellence
- Lead a globally distributed team of data experts, including offshore and vendor-based resources, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Transform data operations from task-based processing to proactive data stewardship, with a focus on quality, scalability, and structure across digital media sources (websites, video, social platforms).
- Ensure timely, accurate delivery of content and data through repeatable, dependable workflows that meet product and business needs.
Automation, AI & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations through process automation, intelligent tooling, and AI integration (e.g., anomaly detection, metadata enrichment, data mapping).
- Partner with technical stakeholders to evaluate, pilot, and implement solutions that reduce manual effort and increase operational scale.
- Support team upskilling to take advantage of emerging technologies and automation-enhanced processes.
Performance Management & Metrics
- Define and track key operational and stewardship KPIs to guide prioritization, monitor workload, and evaluate team performance.
- Lead reporting efforts that provide visibility into operational health and identify areas for optimization.
Customer & Business Impact
- Understand how data is consumed by downstream teams, clients, and products; ensure data is structured and delivered to maximize usability, insight, and value.
- Identify and communicate data gaps or inefficiencies, and recommend solutions that align with customer needs and business goals.
- Contribute to business planning, project scoping, and ROI-focused delivery by improving data quality, structure, and reliability.
Data Governance Enablement
- Execute stewardship and ownership responsibilities that support enterprise data governance goals, including metadata curation, lineage documentation, and data quality monitoring.
- Ensure stewardship practices are aligned with governance standards and contribute to a trustworthy, well-managed data ecosystem.
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in data stewardship, digital media operations, or data quality, with at least 3 years in a team leadership role.
- Strong understanding of digital media best practices and data formats (web, video, social, etc.).
- Experience managing global teams and working across time zones and business functions.
- Proven track record in streamlining data operations and improving quality through process innovation.
Preferred:
- Hands-on familiarity with data tools and platforms (e.g., CMS, social media management tools, data catalogs, or data quality platforms).
- Experience with intelligent automation or AI tools within data environments.
- Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and stewardship frameworks.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar operational improvement methodologies (certification a plus, not required).

This is a full-time exempt role with a base salary range of $85,000 - $125,000, plus benefits. A final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate's location, skill level and experience, and the Company's pay equity.
