Job Summary
As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, the Digital Employee Experience (DEX) Architect is responsible for assessing the current state of the digital employee experience across the CHS enterprise, encompassing both knowledge workers and healthcare professionals. This role will define and maintain a comprehensive DEX strategy and multi-year roadmap, identifying the technology capabilities required to address experience gaps, business needs, and future-state objectives. The DEX Architect will lead the development of technology modernization plans that support DEX vision, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and enhance workforce productivity and engagement. Additionally, the role will evaluate emerging technologies and strategic investments, providing architectural guidance and recommendations to ensure alignment with organizational goals, operational requirements, and long-term digital workplace transformation efforts.
Essential Functions

  • Strategic DEX Leadership: Establish a DEX maturity baseline to identify areas of need and to prioritize investment. Develop and implement comprehensive strategies & roadmaps for DEX that support our organization’s business goals and objectives.
  • Portfolio Management (including Solution Delivery): Oversee the management of the DEX portfolio, ensuring it meets current and future business requirements. Evaluate and prioritize projects based on strategic alignment, return on investment and risk. In collaboration with IT Engineering and Security team, perform ongoing buy-build-customization analyses for current and future components of the portfolio. Identify opportunities for system stabilization, modernization, optimization (rationalization), and harmonization within the Enterprise ecosystem.
  • Defines and drives enterprise architecture strategy and multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on enterprise technology direction, investment priorities, and technology risk considerations.
  • Leads governance of architectural decisions, standards, and frameworks across the organization.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and assesses their potential impact on enterprise systems and technology strategy.
  • Provides architectural leadership for enterprise-scale transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with architecture principles and enterprise standards.
  • Mentors and guides architects and engineering leaders to strengthen enterprise architecture maturity and capability.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; or the equivalent required
  • More than 10 years of experience in IT architecture, systems design, or related engineering disciplines required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep expertise across multiple architecture domains, including enterprise, cloud, infrastructure, application, and network architecture.
  • Ability to design and communicate enterprise-scale architecture solutions with measurable business impact.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence strategic technology and investment decisions.
  • Experience leading digital transformation and large-scale technology modernization initiatives.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or comparable credentials preferred
