All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

This is a pro-bono volunteer position.


JERSEYSTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (“STEM”) education to 5th-8th grade girls in New Jersey underserved communities.


We partner with socially responsible companies and their employees, youth organizations in underserved communities, and civic-minded college students and universities. Together we develop and deliver innovative, hands-on, and online after school projects and inquiry-based learning opportunities that develop teamwork, 21st-century problem-solving skills, and self-esteem.


The Corporate Partnership Development Senior Lead at JerseySTEM plays a crucial role in not only driving the engagement with potential corporate partners but also in mentoring and guiding more junior, Corporate Partnership Development, Leads. As a seasoned professional, the Senior Lead brings deeper insights and strategy to the partnership development efforts and ensures alignment with JerseySTEM's long-term goals.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for a number of Corporations of the same general market space (Chemical, Civil, Finance, Services, etc.) to identify critical decision makers, present JerseySTEM’s mission and financial requirements, and facilitate approval and disbursement of funding
  • Build relationships with key Corporate employees.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to Development Leads, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Provide marketing ideas and concepts for materials and opportunities for promoting our organization to potential donors.
  • Communicate with DEVT leadership on the progress of efforts.
  • Attend Corporate related activities involving those organizations they are responsible for.
  • Attend weekly mandatory virtual meetings

Desired Experience and skills

  • Understanding of Corporate reporting and approval processes. 
  • Familiarity with a particular market space (e.g., key corporations, industry specific events, industry leaders).
  • Strong communication skills, friendly, creativity, driven to do volunteer work that is compatible with our mission.
  • Previous outreach or cold calling experience required.
  • Ability to travel to a local Corporation for appropriate in-person presentations and meetings (preferred).
Qualifications
  • Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
  • 5+ years of corporate sales marketing experience, especially B2B experience required
  • Ability to establish and maintain connections with market space corporations
  • Resourceful, can-do attitude
  • Experience with Business-to-Business marketing and/or selling
  • Experience with community outreach, relationship development, not shy on phone or email.
  • Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)
  • Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with the school admins during the work week
