House Rx is on a mission to make specialty medications more affordable and accessible for patients suffering from chronic illnesses like cancer and autoimmune disorders. We provide clinics with specialized technology and support from pharmacists and care coordinators to dispense medication directly to their patients, known as medically integrated dispensing (MID). We are expanding our product team to help fuel our next phase of growth — keep reading to learn more about the role, our team, and why House Rx is the right next step in your career!
About The Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be accountable for designing, implementing, and optimizing the infrastructure and delivery pipelines that power our life-saving healthcare technology. You will have a mandate to drive significant architectural improvements, eliminate development bottlenecks, and champion infrastructure best practices across our cloud environment. This is a high-impact role for an engineer ready to take ownership of our CI/CD strategy for the future.
What You’ll Do
- Architect and execute a comprehensive overhaul of our existing CI/CD pipelines (leveraging tools like GitHub Actions/Pipelines) to enhance speed, reliability, and security, preparing our delivery process for future growth.
- Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues (performance, availability, scaling) across our production environments (primarily AWS, with exposure to GCP).
- Design and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and maintain resilient, scalable, and cost-effective cloud resources.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to embed SRE principles, optimize application performance, and eradicate developer friction points and bottlenecks.
- Document technical systems, processes, and workflows thoroughly to ensure clarity, maintainability, and operational consistency.
About You
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related discipline.
- AI-Assisted Engineering: Demonstrated experience using modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) as part of daily engineering workflows.
- CI/CD: Proven expertise in designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, GitLab).
- Cloud Infrastructure: Experience managing production workloads primarily in AWS. Knowledge of GCP is a plus.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform or similar tools for declarative infrastructure management.
- Operational Excellence: Highly skilled in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across complex cloud platforms.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills—verbal and written—with the ability to clearly articulate technical strategy, trade-offs, and complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. A proven ability to document complex systems and workflows is required.
- Infrastructure Focus: Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure best practices, with a focus on reliability and cost optimization. Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., healthcare, finance) is beneficial.
- Ownership & Drive: A proactive approach to identifying system weaknesses and driving projects from concept to production with minimal supervision.
Why You’ll Grow With Us
- Strategic Impact: Lead and own the infrastructure strategy for a growing healthcare technology platform, making high-level architectural decisions.
- Mentorship & Rapid Learning: Accelerate your growth with guidance from experienced architects and the opportunity to lead key technical initiatives.
- Impactful Work: Build the underlying platform stability that directly helps patients access life-saving drugs.
- Agency & Ownership: We provide opportunities to make a direct impact, accelerated by your drive and expertise.
- Vibrant & Supportive Culture: Join a fun, thoughtful, and collaborative remote-first team.
