Job Summary
The DevOps Engineer II is a member of the Access Intelligence Platform (AIP) DevOps team. This role will have day-to-day responsibilities such as releasing code to production, maintaining and enhancing monitoring systems. This role also improves our security posture, delivers reliable environment automation and configuration management, and manages special projects to improve the AIP product. This role reports to the DevOps Manager and will partner with InfraOps, AppOps, Engineering and Customer support. Cross-functionally, the teams will ensure customer applications maintain high uptime, reliability, functionality, security, and performance.

This position offers a total compensation range of $101,800.00 - $130,800.00 (inclusive of base salary and variable compensation, such as bonuses and incentives). Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, such as a candidate's location, skills, experience, and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in DevOps Scrum process, meetings and sprints.
- Build and maintain Jenkins and GitHub Actions pipelines; create and update Ansible playbooks to support releases and team automation.
- Actively contribute to 12+ annual releases, including off-hours participation.
- Adhere to our SDLC policies, manage CI/CD pipelines, follow secure development practices, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC, and other standards.
- Administer Linux, Apache, Tomcat, and MySQL across AWS and private-cloud environments; contribute to root-cause analyses and incident response.
- Maintain configuration management and baseline integrity of all production Linux systems using Puppet and Infrastructure-as-Code, ensuring consistency and audit-ready change control.
- Develop and tune Nagios, Grafana, and PRTG dashboards and alerts to improve signal-to-noise ratios and shorten incident response times.
- Collect evidence for SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA audits under the guidance of the DevOps Manager and Sr. DevOps Engineers.
- Extend and document features in the internal DevOps Portal to provide self-service build, deploy, and observability capabilities to engineering teams.
- Create and maintain documentation of new processes and technologies.
- Share monthly accomplishments with leadership.
- Other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent; experienced in regulated, audited environments and containerizing legacy apps for modern platforms.
- 3-5 years in DevOps/SRE/infrastructure roles using DevOps principles.
- Experienced in scripting (Python/Bash), programming (Java), and managing Java web apps on Oracle/RHEL, Tomcat, Apache, and MySQL.
- Solid knowledge of servers, networking, OS, databases, performance tuning, monitoring, alerting, load balancing, and security systems.
- Skilled in Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, GitHub/GitOps, and implementing monitoring with Nagios, Grafana, and PRTG.
- Experienced in AWS, VMware, Linux; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum using Jira; excellent verbal and written communication across all organizational levels.
