Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
We’re seeking a Developer Relations Engineer (DevRel) to help grow our community and empower developers to succeed with Supabase—whether they’re tinkering on weekend projects or scaling production apps.
At Supabase, DevRel Engineers act as a bridge between the product and the community. You’ll create high-impact content, build with our tools, and engage developers across platforms to:
Increase awareness and adoption of Supabase.
Help developers ramp up quickly and unlock value.
Cultivate a strong, welcoming, and resource-rich community.
Represent the voice of the developer within Supabase.
DevRel Engineers are equal parts builder and educator, working across content, community, and code to help developers discover and succeed with Supabase. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Growth to ensure developers have the tools, support, and guidance they need at every step of their journey.
You’ll be joining our team to support Supabase’s global developer ecosystem, with a focus on the following areas of responsibility:
Content Creation
Create and publish technical content that teaches, inspires, and accelerates adoption:
Build compelling demos, tutorials, and sample apps using Supabase with frameworks like Next.js, React, and Svelte.
Produce engaging video content and developer-focused walkthroughs to support launches and common use cases.
Write guides and documentation that enable self-serve onboarding and deeper product exploration.
Community Engagement
Be an active and visible presence in the developer community:
Host livestreams, speak at meetups, and support dev-focused events.
Respond to community questions, highlight cool projects, and celebrate contributors across platforms like Discord, X, YouTube, and more.
Welcome and guide open source contributors, especially first-time collaborators.
Developer Experience Advocacy
Ensure developers have a smooth, productive experience with Supabase:
Identify and address friction points in the developer journey.
Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering based on real-world developer needs.
Contribute to internal discussions around documentation, onboarding, and launch strategy.
Internal Collaboration
Partner across teams to amplify our reach and impact:
Collaborate with Product and Engineering on demos, launch content, and integrations.
Work with Growth and Marketing to extend the reach of DevRel campaigns.
Help prioritize developer education topics based on community feedback and product roadmap.
You might be a fit if you:
Have built full-stack apps and enjoy helping others do the same.
Create content that’s technically deep but accessible and engaging.
Feel equally comfortable writing TypeScript and a video script.
Have experience with Postgres, SQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
Are energized by community and excited to work in the open.
Are organized, self-directed, and eager to make an impact.
Location Requirement
This role is based in San Francisco to support in-person video shoots, attend local events, and be an active presence in the SF tech ecosystem.
