Job Overview:

We are seeking a Developer Relations Engineer, Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the adoption and success of our payment APIs. This individual will act as a bridge between our engineering teams and developer community, creating technical content, engaging with developers, and representing our APIs at conferences and events. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with strong technical expertise and a passion for empowering developers. We’re seeking not only a great presenter but an excellent listener, who is curious about the needs and concerns of our prospects and customers. This person must be able to think out loud with developers to empower them to create innovative solutions using our technology.

What you will do:

API Specifications Management:

  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to update and maintain technical API specifications.

  • Ensure documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and developer-friendly.

Technical Content Creation:

  • Write detailed technical documentation around existing and new payment APIs.

  • Develop blog tutorials showcasing sample applications that leverage our APIs.

  • Create educational resources including guides and walkthroughs to improve developer understanding.

Video Tutorials & Media Production:

  • Produce high-quality video tutorials demonstrating how to use our APIs effectively.

  • Showcase sample code and applications in engaging video formats for platforms like YouTube

Community Engagement:

  • Represent the company at conferences, meetups, and workshops by giving technical presentations on payment APIs.

Advocacy & Feedback Loop:

  • Advocate for the needs of developer clients with internal product and engineering teams.

  • Relay feedback from the developer community to help shape product roadmaps.

  • Gather and prioritize technical requirements, define the developer vision, and collaborate closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

What we need from you:

  • 8+ years of hands-on development & API integration experience

  • 8+ years experience as an engineer or developer evangelist, with a track record of public speaking and/or publishing of technical documentation (blogs, tutorials, videos, etc.)

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, and passionate about fostering developer success and building communities.

  • Previous experience in payments, fintech or related industry is a big plus 

  • Experience with modern programming languages: TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Java, Python, C, C++, SWIFT, PHP

  • Experience in databases, working SQL and No-SQL

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, and passionate about fostering developer success and building communities.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $170,000 

Pay within this range varies by work location and on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We look forward to discussing your salary expectations and our full total rewards offerings throughout the interview process.

Travel required: Once/month
