The simple task of buying software, services, or tools at work has become hopelessly complicated at even the most innovative companies in the world. Today, enterprises spend $120T+ per year globally (>30 times larger than annual consumer e-commerce spend) and rely on vendors more than ever before to run their businesses.

Our cofounders started Zip in 2020 to address this seemingly intractable problem with a purpose-built procurement platform that provides a simple, consumer-grade user experience. Within the last 4 years, Zip has created a new category and developed the leading solution in this $50B+ TAM space. Today, the world’s leading companies like OpenAI, Snowflake, Anthropic, Coinbase, and Prudential rely on Zip to manage billions of dollars in spend.

We have a world-class team coming from category-defining companies like Airbnb, Meta, Stripe, Salesforce, Apple, and Google. With a $2.2 billion valuation and $370 million in funding from Y Combinator, Tiger Global, BOND, DST Global, and CRV, we’re focused on developing cutting-edge technology, expanding into new global markets, and—above all–driving incredible value for our customers. Join us!

Your Role

We are looking for a thoughtful builder with a passion for storytelling and a knack for creating compelling product experiences. This is a role that thrives at the intersection of product, sales, and customers. Zip is seeking a Demo Platform Owner to improve how we showcase our industry-leading platform and empower our sales team to win big.

This is the central opportunity to own the narrative of Zip's value proposition with pre-sales Solutions Engineers (SEs). You'll be the architect behind our product demo experience, crafting engaging stories and building dynamic environments that resonate with customers and accelerate our sales growth.

What You'll Do

As our Demo Engineering Lead, you'll be the central force behind our demo strategy, working hand-in-hand with our Presales Solution Engineering team. You will:

  • Own & Build: Act as the product owner for our demo platform, developing roadmaps, designing innovative demo scenarios, and building robust environments that highlight Zip's competitive differentiation and value proposition.

  • Empower Sales: Maintain a library of detailed demo scripts and enablement materials, ensuring our Solution Engineers are equipped with the most impactful narratives and up-to-date product insights, especially around new AI capabilities.

  • Innovate & Improve: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance demo relevance and clarity, translating customer and prospect needs into actionable demo requirements. You'll be at the forefront of integrating new product features and partner applications into our demo flows.

  • Collaborate & Influence: Partner closely with Product Marketing, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Solution Engineering teams to codify insights, evangelize updates, and funnel demo enhancements into the appropriate environments.

  • Maintain & Optimize: Oversee the health and performance of our demo environments, proactively addressing issues and ensuring seamless, high-quality experiences for all internal stakeholders.

  • Stay Ahead: Monitor the competitive landscape and gather sales feedback to continually refine our demo strategy and maintain Zip's edge.

Your Impact

Your contributions will directly impact our business by:

  • Accelerating Deals: Significantly decrease time-to-close by elevating the quality, clarity, and relevance of our product demonstrations.

  • Boosting Win Rates: Improve close rates with compelling, industry-specific demo experiences that speak directly to customer pain points.

  • Driving Efficiency: Drastically reduce the time and effort required to deliver industry-specific demos

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in solutions consulting, pre-sales, or strategy consulting supporting enterprise software.

  • 2+ years of product management or program management, demonstrating a strong product mindset and ownership.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives.

  • A problem-solver by nature, with a self-starter attitude and the ability to independently own and drive your development pipeline.

  • Technical curiosity to understand system integrations, data migration, and implementation considerations.

  • Comfort working in a cross-functional role, adept at synthesizing feedback and collaborating with diverse teams.

Nice to Haves
  • Prior demo engineering or software engineering experience.

  • Familiarity with procurement, invoicing, AP automation, and integrations with financial systems.

  • Experience with P2P or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Oracle, Workday) and CLM tools (e.g., DocuSign, Ironclad) or risk tools (e.g., OneTrust).

  • Proficiency in Python or Bash/Shell Scripting.

The salary range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000 OTE. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
