Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Demand Forecasting Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts to support production planning, procurement, and strategic decision-making in a highly variable, make-to-order environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience with forecasting models, and a deep understanding of the challenges specific to custom manufacturing. To be successful in this role, you should have demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and executing SQL. This role plays an important part in leading projects and influencing cross-functional teams such as Workforce Management, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Operations, Finance and Customer Experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, customer input, and project pipelines.
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to gather input on new orders, product changes, and customer requirements.
Use statistical forecasting models, ERP/MRP systems, and analytics tools to improve forecast accuracy.
Identify patterns and drivers of demand variability and provide actionable insights.
Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes with data-driven forecasting inputs.
Track forecast accuracy and adjust models/assumptions based on performance metrics.
Prepare demand scenarios to support capacity planning and procurement decisions.
Help integrate forecasting data into production schedules, inventory targets, and raw material planning.
Communicate forecast changes and demand risks to key stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for forecasting processes and tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Master’s preferred.
5+ years of experience in demand forecasting, preferably in a custom or engineer-to-order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; highly proficient in Excel, SQL, and BI Visualization Tool (e.g. Looker), and proficiency in Python is a plus.
Understanding of supply chain principles, lead time variability, and capacity planning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple inputs and priorities in a dynamic setting.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or supply chain management software.
Experience with process mapping and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
