Job Description:

At Regions, Capital Markets provides products and services to meet the needs of Corporate, Commercial, and Real Estate clients throughout the bank. Capital Markets provides hedging products that enable clients to manage risks associate with interest rate, commodity, and foreign exchange exposures. The capital raising services provided by Capital Markets complements the bank’s own lending activities. Capital Markets also provides advisory services associated with mergers and acquisitions as well as non-traditional forms of capital. The array of products offered by Capital Markets helps Regions' relationship managers compete in today’s rapidly evolving financial environment. Capital Markets provides guidance and support to Regions’ line side, assisting them with winning and maintaining the role of trusted advisor to their clients. The list of product offerings is constantly expanding in reaction to market demands.
Capital Markets Analysts will work in one of our business groups supporting Managing Directors, Directors, and Vice Presidents. Responsibilities may vary based on the group and client needs, but analysts can expect to partner across teams to build and analyze financial models and prepare client marketing materials and presentations. Analysts support senior team members in all aspects of the deal process including due diligence, client onboarding and reporting. Analysts also assist in the cultivation of client relationships by conducting research, staying abreast of client and industry trends, and participating in industry and client-related strategic and tactical planning. This full-time position puts motivated Analysts on track for Associate roles; analysts will develop exceptional analytical skills, gain exposure, build relationships, and have leadership opportunities that position them for future growth.

Business Segments Include:

Syndicated and Leveraged Finance

Syndicated and Leveraged Finance group includes loan syndications, leveraged finance, financial sponsor coverage, and private/alternative capital advisory for middle market companies.

Public Debt and Equity Markets

Public Debt and Equity Markets includes public fixed income and equity capital markets.

Financial Risk Management

The Financial Risk Management group (FRM) provides hedging products that enable clients to manage risks associate with interest rate, commodity, and foreign exchange exposures.

Real Estate Project Finance

Real Estate Project Finance provides client-specific off-balance sheet financing solutions through its various Agency Products – Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and creation of client marketing material

  • Generates financial modeling to include leveraged buyout and discounted cash flow analysis

  • Works closely with senior team members and other groups within the bank to prepare transaction offering documents

  • Assists in conducting bank/investor meetings as well as sell-side management presentations

  • Conducts industry and market research

  • Completes valuation analyses

  • Conducts and assists in financial due diligence

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Analyst program length may be 2 or more years. Emerging Talent Program Analysts start with a six-week training program before beginning work within their business unit (this will not apply to hires outside of the Emerging Talent Program).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with proven record of high achievement

  • Coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance

Preferences

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

  • Past relevant experience (i.e., summer internships or 1-2 years experience)

The Debt Capital Markets Analyst serves as the primary analytical and execution support for senior and mid-level bankers in the origination and execution of traditional fixed income banking products and services, which include investment grade and high yield fixed income public market advisory, as well as private placement market advisory, to optimize clients' overall capital structure.

Incumbents are expected to have the ability to develop an understanding of bond documents and apply that understanding to develop liability management ideas.

This position will report directly to Regions Public Debt & Equity Markets team as a full-time Capital Markets Analyst, independent from the Emerging Talent 2-year Program. 

An MBA or Masters degree is not preferred at this level.

Daily (M-F) on-site attendance at our Charlotte Uptown Corporate office will be required.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$79,286.13 USD

Median:

$104,706.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
