Job Description:

The Commercial Operations group supports revenue-generating functions, with the Deal Desk focusing on translating the commercial strategy into efficient deal processes and workflows. The team handles complex deals, ensuring alignment across Sales, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders for contractual terms, pricing, and financial considerations while ensuring compliance with corporate requirements. Deal Desk also develops policies that impact operations and future initiatives, resolving deal challenges and advising teams on pricing and value propositions to drive deal velocity and profitability. 

 

What you will be responsible for: 

  • Develop and implement structured Deal Desk policies, processes, and approval workflows to support commercial strategy and ensure efficient deal execution. 

  • Manage complex deals, navigating contractual terms, legal requirements, and financial considerations while balancing risk and business objectives. 

  • Ensure revenue and deal structures align with corporate compliance and financial requirements, collaborating closely with Finance and other key stakeholders. 

  • Define and refine Deal Desk policies that influence immediate operations and establish best practices for future initiatives. 

  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and senior leadership to address deal-related challenges and maintain seamless communication. 

  • Advise teams on pricing strategies, contract structures, and value propositions to accelerate deal velocity and optimize profitability. 

  • Drive operational excellence by improving quote management, approvals, and deal tracking to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times. 

  • Utilize analytical tools to monitor key metrics such as deal velocity, pipeline accuracy, and revenue forecasting, identifying opportunities for process improvements. 

  • Ensure seamless integration between CRM, CPQ, and ERP systems, maintaining data integrity and supporting scalability. 

  • Provide strategic insights to leadership on aligning Deal Desk policies with broader corporate objectives. 

 

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Proven experience in deal desk operations, commercial strategy, sales operations, or a related function. 

  • Strong financial and contractual acumen, with the ability to structure deals, analyze pricing models, and mitigate risk. 

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Product teams. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and proactively address deal complexities. 

  • Experience leveraging CRM, CPQ, and ERP systems to optimize deal processes. 

  • Ability to develop scalable policies and processes that drive efficiency and business growth. 

  • Analytical mindset with experience tracking KPIs and using data to inform decision-making.

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $101,250 and $135,000. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
