If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the role in the Data and Analytics function for Global Pet Nutrition (PN) at Mars.

Pet Nutrition (PN) is the most vibrant category in the FMCG sector. As we work to transform this exciting category, a new program, Digital First, has been mobilized by the Mars Pet Nutrition (PN) leadership team. Digital First places pet parents at the centre of all we do in Mars PN, while digitalizing a wide range of business process areas, and creating
future fit capabilities to achieve ambitious targets in top line growth, earnings, and pet parent centricity. The Digital First agenda requires Digitizing at scale and requires you to demonstrate significant thought leadership, quality decision making, deep technical know-how, and an ability to navigate complex business challenges while building and leading a team of world class data and analytics leaders.

With Digital First, PN is moving to a Product based model to create business facing digital capabilities. Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and storage solutions to support data analytics and machine learning initiatives. Reporting to the Director-Data engineering solution. The role operates globally in collaboration with teams engineering teams across core products.
 

What are we looking for?
  • Proven expertise in Data Engineering:
    Extensive hands-on experience designing, building, and orchestrating data flows and pipelines in cloud environments, specifically using Azure and Databricks.

  • Domain experience in Supply and R&D:
    Demonstrated track record working with data solutions in supply chain, manufacturing, or R&D domains, with the ability to connect multiple data sources to drive business decisions.

  • Leadership and project management:
    Experience leading data engineering teams, managing projects or project steps, and mentoring junior colleagues; ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Advanced technical skills:
    Proficiency in developing logical and physical data models, implementing big data architectures (data lakes, analytical platforms), and troubleshooting complex data processing issues.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures:
    Architect and oversee the development of data lakes, analytical platforms, and big data pipelines to support supply and R&D functions.

  • Manage and mentor the data engineering team:
    Provide guidance, support, and technical leadership to team members, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.

  • Drive cross-functional data integration and analytics:
    Collaborate with business stakeholders to connect disparate data sources, enabling actionable insights and supporting decision-making.

  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and compliance:
    Oversee data acquisition, conversion, and troubleshooting processes, ensuring robust, repeatable, and compliant data solutions in line with internal and external standards
