Data Science Intern – Summer & Fall 2026
CME Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Data Science Intern for the 2026 Summer and Fall 2026 terms. This role supports the Manager of Data Science in client development analytics, focusing on transforming various data sources into actionable business insights that drive sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities (Principal Accountabilities):
Execute data acquisition, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes utilizing tools such as SQL (Big Query) and SAP Business Object.
Develop compelling data visualizations using Tableau, Looker, Streamlit, or R Shiny.
Perform data processing and develop analytical models.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Skills / Software Requirements:
Strong proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, R). Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency with Tableau.
Experience with cloud service platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
Education:
Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Math, Statistics, Data Science, Financial Engineering, Engineering).
A finance background is highly advantageous.
Internship Details:
Timing: May 2026 – December 2026
Hours:
Summer: 32 hours per week
Fall: 16 hours per week
