We're OWL, a startup in the heart of South End, Charlotte that's helping institutional investors with due diligence and their investment making process. Our platform helps them make informed decisions by centralizing access to billions of data points on fund managers globally. We're looking for a talented Data Operations Specialist to join our team and help us build a scalable, maintainable platform. This is a on-site role based in Charlotte.

About the job

Old Well Labs is seeking a Data Operations Specialist! The Data Operations Specialist will help optimize the value delivered by our Data team. In this role, you will be expected to gain an in-depth understanding of our production data operations. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliability of our production operations that the Old Well Labs organization relies on.

Position Location: Charlotte

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate manual processes into a high quality data admin app.

  • Build reports on our data quality and a cadence for presenting them to the team.

  • Manage a team of offshore data resources.

  • Design, document and manage processes in a structured, consistent manner.

Example Process You Would Lead:

  • Build a process for integrating unstructured allocator tax filings within our application, using the help of offshore data resources. Collect, clean, check, and measure data quality in a scalable manner.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual processes for loading, manipulating and verifying data quality.

  • Manage teams executing manual data processes and verify quality.

  • Verifying data quality of production data.

  • Own documentation of our data processes.

  • Evolve our data processes to deal with engineer changes, product changes and scale.

  • Collaborate with engineering team to understand changes in the data pipelines and provide feedback.

Who we are looking for

  • 2+ years experience in data operations or project management with a strong data and/or finance focus.

  • Experience supporting a B2B SaaS product.

  • Participating and managing processes like kanban or scrum using tools like Jira.

  • Strong documentation skills (e.g., requirements, test scripts, project status, management presentations, etc.) using tools like Confluence.

  • Strong Excel experience.

  • Familiar with using the latest LLMs or other AI tools to help with operations tasks.

  • Bonus: Experience with relational databases (postgres a plus), Basic SQL (reading, writing a plus).
