Who we are

Timely is your home for secondary master scheduling featuring AI optimization and support from a team of educators who know and have lived scheduling. Not only does Timely save time and headache, it unlocks resources so district and charter leaders can build a schedule that drives staffing and budget efficiencies.

We founded Timely to build the tool we wish we'd had when we were in schools -- hoping to save school leaders hundreds of hours of wasted time while allowing district leaders to enable their academic, budget and staffing priorities. Our solution addresses the needs of school-based employees who toil away building schedules and central office employees who need visibility into them.

After completing a successful pilot during the 2022-23 school year, we have scaled our impact across the country. Through a lean approach, we've achieved impressive growth - 8.0x and 3.6x ARR increases in consecutive years - with extraordinary renewal rates (95% logo retention, 96% gross revenue retention). Today, Timely is serving schools across 14 states and Washington D.C. This growth has been driven by our strong product-market fit, deep understanding of education, and commitment to customer success.

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Integrations Specialist to ensure that schools and districts can seamlessly integrate their data with Timely’s scheduling technology.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work with different stakeholders (engineering, school success and customers) to execute integration workflows, troubleshoot challenges, and support successful data integration.

  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy, security, and scalability of data pipelines, implementing process improvements and automation where possible.

  • Develop and maintain best practices, documentation, and institutional knowledge around data integrations.

  • Lead discovery work for integrating with new SISs, building key relationships with customers and potential SIS partners.

  • Own the scaling of the data integrations function, melding product, technology, process, and organizational improvements to serve customers more effectively and efficiently.

  • Support team growth by onboarding new team members and continuously improving data integration processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data integration, data analysis, data engineering, or a related field.

  • Proficiency with multiple data technologies & tools such as Excel, SQL, REST APIs, NoSQL, BigQuery, etc. Ability to program with Python is preferred but ability to learn and onboard quickly is also acceptable.

  • Prior experience with data extract/transform/load (ETL) pipelines.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-centric approach.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote startup environment.

  • Demonstrated ability leading technical conversations with a wide range of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong preference for experience with K-12 district and school data systems, especially Student Information Systems (SIS’s).

  • Experience scaling data integration processes in a growing organization.

  • Familiarity with school scheduling systems or SIS platforms, particularly hands‑on experience working with one or more K–12 SIS platforms (e.g., PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward).

  • Strong understanding of SIS data structures: students, courses, enrollments, sections, staffing, rooms.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs and basic scripting for API-based data pulls.

Why Join Us

  • Work with an exceptional team tackling meaningful challenges in education.

  • Be part of a growing, financially healthy company with a proven product.

  • Enjoy comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision and life insurance, unlimited PTO, and professional development opportunities including free access to online learning programs.
