Job Description:

The Data Governance Administrator will play a pivotal role in advancing Pluralsight’s data strategy by performing comprehensive data analysis and driving process improvements to ensure regulatory compliance and data quality across the organization. This individual will lead complex projects, leveraging their expertise to manage data governance applications to achieve strategic data governance objectives.

This role requires a proactive approach and a passion for educating and guiding team members on best practices in data governance. The Data Governance Administrator will work closely with business units and the IT team to implement regulatory frameworks, standards, and procedures, define critical data elements and data lineage, and document data flows and requirements to support Busey’s Data Governance program.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate closely with data stewards and data owners to align on governance policies and resolve data issues, ensuring data ownership responsibilities are clearly defined and managed.

  • Document and implement workflows, data policies, standards, and procedures for both legacy and new data environments.

  • Perform data quality audits, identify data collection issues, suggest improvements, and help implement fixes.

  • Manage the stakeholder communications to ensure all data consumers are aware of the data governance strategies and any changes.

  • Support the design and maintenance of data dictionaries, aligning with stakeholder requirements across various platforms

  • Develop and maintain metrics for data governance activities (e.g., data quality scores, compliance rates, issue resolution times), providing regular reporting to stakeholders to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • Experienced with data governance processes, including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and compliance

  • Ability to lead and facilitate discussions with stakeholders to achieve results, proactively addressing sources of conflict.

  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to achieve results in alignment with strategic priorities

  • Familiarity with database languages, such as SQL

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships and convey complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data privacy and security.

  • Experienced with implementing data governance processes, including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and compliance

  • Experience with data governance tools, such as Atlan

  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems through logical reasoning and critical thinking

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data governance or as a data steward responsible for metadata management, data quality, KPIs, etc.

  • 5+ years of experience as a data analyst or data engineer, or a combination of both.

Travel Requirements:

While Pluralsight operates under a remote and hybrid work model, we believe that in-person connection and collaboration are important. Recurring travel to our HQ in Utah may be required depending on the role and team member location.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $109,400 - $135,000 USD. Pluralsight's pay ranges vary based on work location. Talent Acquisition can share more detail during the hiring process when applicable. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. In addition to the base salary, this role may also be eligible for benefits and bonuses.
