About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and business-savvy Data Engineer II to join our Data & Analytics Team. This leadership-oriented role blends deep technical expertise with strategic business engagement, supporting enterprise-wide data initiatives and enabling scalable, self-service analytics. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver, capable of architecting robust data solutions, mentoring team members, and driving innovation across the data ecosystem.
You will partner closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and leaders to design and deliver trusted, accessible data products that empower decision-making and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and ETL frameworks to support advanced analytics and reporting.
- Act as a strategic liaison between business units and the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence, translating complex business needs into technical solutions.
- Architect and implement enterprise-grade data models and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
- Champion data literacy and foster a culture of self-service analytics across the organization.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data quality, integrity, and governance across platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and deliver high-impact data solutions.
- Drive discussions on data architecture, modeling, and platform scalability to support long-term analytics capabilities.
- Mentor data engineers and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
- Delegate work among the team and help manage projects and work as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex data projects.
- Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with modern data pipeline tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, dbt, dbt Cloud, Apache Airflow).
- Expertise in at least one BI platform (Power BI, Looker, Tableau), including dashboard development and semantic modeling.
- Strong experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
- Strong documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps principles in data engineering.
- Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working in a Center of Excellence or leading enterprise-wide data transformation efforts.

Compensation & Benefits
- The Compensation Range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. If the compensation structure for the role includes an incentive component (ie. most Sales roles) the range below represents total target compensation (TTC) (base salary + variable).

- MIN: $76,300 - MID: $109,000 - MAX: $130,800 Currency: CAD
- MIN: $91,000 - MID: $130,000 - MAX: $156,000 Currency: USD
