We’re looking for a Data Architect (Data Modeling Focus) to support one of our life sciences clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data design, business understanding, and analytics enablement.
You’ll focus on building scalable, well-structured data models that serve as the foundation for enterprise reporting and analytics in an Amazon Redshift and Power BI environment.
What you'll do
- Design and implement data models (star schemas, fact and dimension tables, and semantic models) to support analytics and reporting in Power BI
- Build and optimize data architecture within Amazon Redshift, ensuring scalability, performance, and data consistency
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, lineage, and documentation for key business domains
- Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data models
- Define and enforce modeling standards and best practices, ensuring consistency across projects
- Work with Salesforce and Veeva data sources to model key life sciences datasets (e.g., sales, marketing, CRM, and field activities)
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure model alignment and data interoperability across business units
What we're looking for
- Strong experience in data architecture and data modeling, particularly with star schema and dimensional design
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift or similar cloud data warehouse platforms
- Deep understanding of semantic modeling and how it supports Power BI and self-service analytics
- Strong SQL skills for model development, validation, and optimization
- Experience working with Salesforce and/or Veeva data in a life sciences or pharmaceutical environment
- Solid grasp of data governance, lineage, and metadata management concepts
- Excellent communication skills — able to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
