About Solace

Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.

We're a Series C startup, founded in 2022 and backed by Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, Torch Capital, Menlo Ventures, Signalfire, and IVP. Our U.S. based team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly.

Solace isn't a place to coast. We're here to redefine healthcare—and that demands urgency, precision, and heart. If you're looking to stretch yourself, sharpen your edge, and do the best work of your life alongside a team that cares deeply, you're in the right place. We’re intense, and we like it that way.

About the Role

At Solace, data is at the core of how we operate. As we scale, the complexity of our data and the volume of our strategic initiatives are growing exponentially. We are looking for a highly product-aligned Data Analytics Lead to serve as a "player-coach" for our data team.

In this role, you will directly manage and mentor a team of talented Data Analysts, while continuing to roll up your sleeves as an individual contributor on our most critical, high-impact projects. You will work in lockstep with our Group PM to shape product strategy, measure the success of product launches, and dive deep into ad-hoc product analytics. You will be the linchpin between product strategy and data execution — managing the team's roadmap, instilling analytical best practices, and ensuring we are answering the right questions to drive the business forward.

If you love the challenge of wrangling complex data sets just as much as you love seeing a junior analyst level up their SQL skills, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Player-Coach Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of 2+ Data Analysts. You will guide their day-to-day work, conduct code reviews, unblock technical challenges, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

  • Drive Product Strategy: Act as the primary strategic data partner to our Group PM. You and your team will actively measure the impact of new product launches, evaluate feature adoption, and perform deep-dive ad-hoc product analytics to uncover actionable user insights.

  • Drive Prioritization: Act as the intake point for cross-functional data requests. You will ruthlessly prioritize the team's roadmap, balancing quick operational and product wins with long-term, scalable data infrastructure projects.

  • Execute High-Impact Analytics: Own the execution of our most complex analytical initiatives. You will stay hands-on-keyboard, writing advanced SQL, building comprehensive Hex notebooks, and architecting scalable data models.

  • Establish Best Practices: Define and instill the standards for how data analytics is done at Solace. This includes version control, documentation, dashboard design UI/UX, and rigorous QA processes for data accuracy.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a strategic partner to leadership across Product, Operations, and Engineering. Translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical requirements and deliver actionable insights that influence company strategy.

  • Curate the Data Layer: Collaborate with engineering to maintain and improve clean, reliable, and performant data models, scaling our infrastructure as the business grows.

What You Bring

  • 5+ Years of Data Experience: Proven track record in product analytics, data analytics, data science, or a similar quantitative field, preferably within a product-led tech startup or marketplace where you have owned analytical work tied directly to product decisions and business outcomes.

  • 2+ Years of Team Leadership Experience: Direct experience leading, guiding, and mentoring individual contributor data analysts. You know how to build and support high-performing, happy teams.

  • Advanced SQL: You are an absolute expert at writing efficient, complex queries to extract and manipulate data from cloud data warehouses like Snowflake. Parsing nested JSON and wrangling messy data doesn't scare you.

  • BI & Dashboarding Mastery: Strong experience designing intuitive, interactive dashboards. Familiarity with Hex (or similar notebook-based BI tools) is preferred.

  • dbt (Highly Preferred): You can actively manage transformations, architect core data models, and guide analysts on dbt best practices. This is a core part of how our data team operates.

  • Product Intuition: You have a strong understanding of product metrics, A/B testing, and user behavior analytics. You don't just pull numbers; you understand the "why" behind user actions. Experience with two-sided marketplace metrics — supply/demand balance, conversion, match quality, liquidity — is a strong plus.

  • Exceptional Communication: You can seamlessly translate highly technical findings into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical executives, product managers, and operational teams.

  • Startup DNA: You thrive in ambiguity, move with urgency, and are comfortable wearing multiple hats to ensure the team succeeds.

Bonus Points

  • Python/R: Experience using scripting languages for automation, advanced statistical analysis, or forecasting.

  • Healthcare or Marketplace Experience: A background in navigating the complexities of healthcare data (claims, EHR, HIPAA compliance), or experience working within a two-sided tech marketplace environment.

Applicants must be based in the United States.

Up for the Challenge?

We look forward to meeting you.
