CareMessage is seeking a talented Healthcare Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a Data Analyst specializing in healthcare, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and our technical teams, delivering actionable insights, high-quality reporting, and data-driven recommendations.
As a Data Analyst at CareMessage, you will play a crucial role in collecting, validating, transforming, interpreting, and visualizing data to inform decision-making processes across the organization. You will use your business acumen, analytical skills, and proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools to turn raw data into actionable insights. Your work will be central to telling the “data story” of a patient's interactions with CareMessage and guiding measurable, scalable improvements to access to care, clinical outcomes, and social determinants of health for the populations we support.
You will work closely with an agile, multidisciplinary team to identify key questions, define metrics, clean and prepare datasets, perform exploratory and descriptive analyses, and create dashboards and reports that enable stakeholders to take data-driven action. These solutions will help generate insights from the organization’s connected data and strengthen our ability to make informed, timely, and impactful decisions.

Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (preferably BigQuery) and data visualization tools (Metabase preferred).Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and analysis of large datasets.
- Ability to translate complex data findings into clear business recommendations.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis or scripting languages like Python or R.
- Exposure to predictive analytics or AI/ML workflows.
- Experience with data governance and metadata documentation.
- Commitment to privacy and compliance standards (HIPAA familiarity preferred).
- Experience in healthcare, public health, or working with social determinants of health data.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (GCP preferred).

Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, operations, and customer success teams to translate business needs into analytical requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses in tools like Metabase, BigQuery, and Google Sheets.
- Perform in-depth data exploration to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through QA processes and collaboration with Data Engineering.
- Optimize and document SQL queries for performance and scalability.
- Partner with Data Engineers on data modeling improvements and pipeline testing.
- Help define and track key metrics, including those related to clinical outcomes, increased access to care, and improvements in Social Determinants of health.
Within 1 Month You'll:
- Gain a foundational understanding of CareMessage’s product, customers and patients populations with emphasis on how data flows through the platform.
- Meet key internal stakeholders (Product, Design, Engineering, Finance, Customer Success) and learn relevant policies, protocols, and compliance standards.
- Establish rapport with existing Engineers and Product Managers across product teams.
- Build out basic understanding of existing data models, key metrics, and dashboards currently in use.
Within 3 Months You'll:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the technical environment (BigQuery, Metabase, data pipelines, QA processes) and identify at least 2-3 opportunities for improvement in processes, systems, or tooling.
- Partner with a Data Engineer to define ETL specifications for at least one high-priority dataset, contributing to the creation of a research-ready dataset that can be used for business or health outcome analysis.
- Deliver two or more new dashboards or reports for a business unit that improves decision-making speed and clarity.
Within 6 Months You'll:
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of CareMessage’s product platform and data ecosystem, and contribute to refining the data roadmap.
- Lead an analysis that incorporates health outcomes data with CareMessage platform telemetry to demonstrate a measurable link between patient engagement and health outcomes.
- Proactively recommend and implement at least one improvement to reporting or data visualization practices that increase stakeholder adoption or efficiency.
Compensation Details
This role is currently set at a L2 Data analyst level, equivalent to someone who has held two or more data analyst roles with related experience in analytics/statistics for multiple years and is extremely proficient in their craft.
Our salary allocation for this role is $139,244.
