Cyber Operations Analyst – Offensive Cybersecurity & Incident Response

RSM is seeking a Cyber Operations Analyst to join our Offensive Cybersecurity & Incident Response practice. This role is designed to enhance the efficiency and scalability of our operations by supporting engagement intake, proposal development, project tracking, and process improvement initiatives across the practice.

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and a strong technology background. The ideal candidate has experience supporting project or consulting teams, managing complex workflows, and creating operational visibility for leadership and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Intake & Pipeline Support

  • Coordinate intake of new sales opportunities, ensuring complete and accurate scoping information is collected.
  • Partner with directors and partners to prepare pricing, Statements of Work (SOWs), and proposal materials.
  • Track pipeline opportunities, monitor key metrics, and highlight risks or bottlenecks for leadership visibility.
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of intake and proposal processes using custom technology platforms.

Engagement & Project Support

  • Support the setup and tracking of offensive cybersecurity and incident response engagements, including project creation, consultant assignment, and documentation.
  • Monitor timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure alignment with client expectations.
  • Maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting mechanisms to provide real-time status updates to project leaders and clients.
  • Assist with risk and issue tracking across active engagements.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Develop and maintain standardized documentation, playbooks, and workflows to improve consistency and efficiency across the practice.
  • Partner with internal support functions (finance, operations, technology) to centralize data, track key performance indicators, and support leadership reporting.
  • Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and support adoption of new tools or methodologies.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge management efforts by maintaining and organizing shared resources.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, or operations support, ideally within cybersecurity, IT, or professional services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or related field.
  • Strong technical acumen and the ability to quickly understand cybersecurity and incident response service offerings.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing client-facing documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management or workflow tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity or incident response teams.
  • Familiarity with professional services operations, pipeline tracking, or resource management.
  • Exposure to financial tracking, budgeting, or metrics reporting.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, or similar) is a plus.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $85,100 - $161,700

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
