Wells Fargo is seeking a leader of our Information Security tools engineering team. The role sits within our Cybersecurity Defense and Information Technology group leading a team of engineers responsible for our level 3 cyber defense and cyber tool engineering for the Cyber team.

This role is a senior level leadership position responsible for driving Cyber tools, to enable our Cyber defense and data protection, cloud security, network security, analytics operations teams. Your objective is to ensure the directives and activities are in alignment with policies and company risk.

In this role you will provide industry-leading security tool engineering as well as security tool innovation lab oversight for in-depth best-in-class level 3 engineering for our cyber utilized tools. You will help Wells Fargo engineer our controls  to reduce risks from sophisticated threats to reduce the overall impact of business risk and enable our data protection, cloud, CSIRT and Data loss teams. You will be able to work with early round technology start-ups and control design partners to build a world class defense in depth engineering tooling strategy. You will work on engagements to provide level 3 engineering and occasional support with navigating incidents and empowering our detective and preventative controls for users, technology, business process for the sophisticated threat groups. Experience with leading engineering world class detective and preventative controls and industry cyber innovation experience will be a key part of this function as we evolve controls with today's advanced insider and data loss threats.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage information security engineering team
  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface with external law enforcement agencies, FUSION teams, regulatory bodies or industry forums
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Technology Engineering and architecture Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 5+ years leading a security innovation lab and detailed knowledge of key information security risk domains and third-party technologies positioned to each of the domains and experience building, leading each of those in a large international financial services organization for 8+ years to show a proven track record with delivering best in class security engineering controls and solutions

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with networking and platform engineering with infrastructure, cybersecurity tools and technologies
  • Endpoint and network experience: IDS, IPS, EDR, ATP, malware defenses and monitoring
  • Threat hunt experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of common adversary tactics and techniques such as persistence, defense, evasion and obfuscation
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK Framework

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
