Position Overview

The mission of Actian’s Customer Success (CS) Team is to deliver outstanding customer experiences, ensuring our customers fully leverage the power of Actian’s products and services. By converting user insights and customer requirements into practical solutions, the CS team aims to deliver high-quality experiences that address our customers’ distinct business needs. Functioning as a collaborative link across the organization, the team acts as the lead internal voice for our customers to help them reach their target business goals.

We are looking for a forward-thinking, technically curious individual to join our team to help shape how we synthesize and prioritize customer insights using artificial intelligence. As a Customer Success AI Insights Intern, you will build a deep understanding of our customers and the various channels through which we collect feedback, specifically focusing on data residing in our Customer Success and Technical Support platforms. You will collaborate with teams across Actian to better understand how we can transform everyday customer conversations into strategic product intelligence.

Your primary focus is to help us identify meaningful business gaps by developing an AI-driven framework to elevate our feedback loops. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your AI expertise while experiencing significant personal growth through project-based work. You will thrive in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with mentors to guide you every step of the way.

Capstone Overview

During your 12-week capstone project, you will lead the development of an AI Feedback Intelligence Agent designed to create lasting results for the organization. You will navigate multiple dependencies and work with various stakeholders to ensure the agent distinguishes between routine interactions and critical business needs. This challenging project requires you to create a comprehensive work plan, including learning objectives, success metrics, and a detailed timeline. At the conclusion of your internship, you will present your AI agent and your strategic recommendations to the company during our Internship Showcase.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop an AI Feedback Agent: You will lead a high-impact capstone project to build an AI agent that automatically gathers, synthesizes, and prioritizes product feedback from diverse data sources.
  • Data Mapping and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to discover and map unstructured data sources—including meeting logs, emails, and support cases to define metrics for "meaningful feedback".
  • Prototyping and Testing: Design and execute test cases to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of the AI feedback pipeline, iterating on prompts, data inputs, and synthesis logic based on findings.
  • Strategic Project Presentation: Document the final AI synthesis framework and present your findings and lasting results to Actian during the Week 12 Internship Showcase.

Nice to Haves:

  • AI/ML Familiarity: Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Large Language Models (LLMs) to transform high-volume, unstructured conversational data into actionable insights.
  • Data Integration Skills: Proficiency in using APIs and data integration tools to programmatically pull data from sources rather than relying on manual exports.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to approach open-ended "driving questions" with curiosity to find innovative technical solutions for complex business problems.
  • Research & Insights: Demonstrated experience using research, analysis, or data interpretation to identify patterns and generate actionable insights
  • The ideal candidate is:
  • A rising Senior or Junior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or similar technologies for summarization, synthesis, or analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguity and structure findings clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate findings through clear summaries and storytelling
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and / or Google Sheets, Docs and Slides

Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

We value diversity at our company. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected characteristics in the location in which the candidate is applying.
