The Opportunity
The Team You Will Join - Life Services Department
Location: Cary, NC Virtual Training and in person nesting Training. New Hires Should live within a commutable distance of Cary.
Our Customer Care Advocates handle inbound customer service inquiries via the telephone and resolve complex life insurance claim inquiries.
The successful candidate is a compassionate listener with strong phone skills who can guide callers with clarity, empathy, and professionalism-ensuring each interaction is a supportive and positive experience, even during emotionally difficult times.
With an understanding of the customers' needs and commitment to providing effective solutions, you will deliver a service experience that not only meets but exceeds expectations, making it simple and seamless for customers to do business with us.
The Opportunity - Life Service Customer Care Advocate

As a Customer Care Advocate, you'll take inbound calls from family members, attorneys and funeral homes regarding life insurance death claims. Whether helping someone start a new claim or providing updates on an existing claim, you'll be a trusted voice during one of life's most difficult moments.

Key Responsibilities
How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
  • Live within a commutable distance to MetLife Office out of Cary, NC
  • Successfully complete the required training program, including in-person training from November 18, 2026 through December 24, 2026, followed by in-person nesting from December 24, 2026 through January 7, 2027. Attendance is mandatory, and no PTO may be taken during the training or nesting period. Candidates must adhere to established start and end times. Upon successful completion of training and nesting, the position will transition to a virtual work environment. Please note there will be no training or nesting on November 26, 2026, December 25, 2026, or January 1, 2027.
  • Attend required office visits at least once a month at the direction of leadership, including for monthly events, training, meetings, etc.
  • Work required shifts during hours of operation between 8:00AM -8:00PM ET Monday through Friday; must be flexible regarding the ability to work overtime & shift worked, which may change based on business need and bidding process.
  • Consistently meet or exceed key performance indicators.

The expected salary range for this position is $41,600/year . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
