Job Description SummaryA Curriculum Developer is responsible for designing, developing and organizing instructional materials and educational programs to ensure they align with learning objectives for technical training programs for the multiple engineering teams of Unison, a GE Aerospace company. They play a pivotal role in shaping the future of learning experiences. The Curriculum Developer’s responsibilities include creating detailed, engaging curriculums and quality resources, liaising with subject matter experts, outlining learning objectives, and providing feasible timeframes for curriculum launches. Passionate about learning and aware of how digital technology has reshaped adult education.
To be successful as a Curriculum Developer, you should understand how the learning process works and be prepared to collaborate with a wide range of professionals. Outstanding candidates have strong project management abilities, and excellent technical writing, research, project management, communication and instructional design and curriculum development skills.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end development lifecycle of learning programs from analysis to implementation.
  • Conducting research and collaborating with subject matter experts, trainers, and other professionals to develop quality curricula, onboarding programs, and learning resources for the engineering team.
  • Designing and developing a range of digital resources to optimize classroom and online learning against outlined Engineering Functional Competencies.
  • Align existing content with adult learning principles, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Setting up tests, exams, and other formal and informal assessments to gauge the effectiveness of curriculums when necessary.
  • Establishing feasible timeframes to achieve the goals and objectives outlined in the curriculum.
  • Monitoring curriculum and student progress and making relevant changes to curriculums, perform maintenance and updates to curriculums.
  • Supports the engineering team’s lean journey through standard work and common processes training.
  • Supports Engineering Talent Development & Training Leader in developing onboarding and other technical curriculums to established engineering competencies.
  • Manages electronic media for training and development including websites, Sharepoint, newsletter, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in instructional content development or instructional design)

Desired Characteristics

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional content development or instructional design
  • Master’s degree in adult learning, instructional design, curriculum development is preferable
  • Strong digital and research skills
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when creating and reviewing deliverables
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Proficiency in authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise)
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Camtasia, Snagit, Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, etc.) with direct experience in video production and editing for eLearning and ILT
  • Demonstrated ability to develop content (including digital) for diverse audiences
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro)
  • Experience creating content for diverse audiences with varying educational backgrounds
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong editing and proofreading abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with Lean principles and/or has a Yellow, Green or Black belt
  • Excellent collaboration and written and verbal communication skills
  • Great networking and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong planning skills, vision, and creative intelligence
  • Apply project and program management experience: organization, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities against deadlines
  • Ability to travel to Unison sites
  • A passion for education.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
