A Little About Us
Yahoo Finance is moving beyond stock updates and breaking finance news to explore how business, money, and power show up in real life. We’re building personality-led, format-driven programming that makes business feel human, relevant, and culturally aware. We are a team of editors, writers, producers, and personalities reinventing how finance is experienced across Yahoo’s platforms—from apps and newsletters to social feeds and video. We are here to make Yahoo Finance the most trusted and engaging business media brand in the world.
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly creative, digitally fluent Creative Producer to lead weekly shows, video podcasts, and short-form special projects from idea to publication. This is not a traditional TV role; it is for someone who can build and execute fast without sacrificing thoughtfulness. You are a storyteller who understands that a great business show isn’t just informative—it’s watchable. You think about the hook, the framing, the cold open, and how a conversation lives across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Own production across weekly shows, video podcasts, and short-form projects—from concept shaping through final delivery.
Translate complex business topics into compelling, culturally resonant storytelling across multiple formats.
Turn loose ideas into tight rundowns, strong guest conversations, and clear narrative arcs.
Deliver high-quality video on fast timelines by leveraging AI-assisted editing workflows to automate repetitive tasks like transcription, captioning, and basic B-roll selection.
Shape tone, pacing, and structure in partnership with talent and creative leadership.
Bring out the best in on-air talent by shaping ideas, sharpening storytelling, and guiding projects with intentional creative direction designed to travel across platforms.
Collaborate closely with editors to craft sharp, intentional final cuts, acting as a "validator" of AI-generated content to ensure editorial accuracy and brand alignment.
Leverage AI tools to drive production efficiencies across script drafting, show notes, research, and audience retention elements (titles, thumbnails, platform hooks) while continuously refining show concepts.
Evolve formats over time based on audience data, performance, and cultural shifts.
Qualifications & Experience
4–7 years producing digital video, podcasts, or personality-led programming—ideally in an environment focused on digital-first formats.
Based in or near New York City, with flexibility to come on-site
A natural storyteller who knows how to make complex topics engaging and culturally relevant.
Strong editorial judgment and creative taste Operationally sharp—able to manage multiple productions and deliver consistently at speed.
Deep fluency in digital platforms, audience behavior, and format mechanics.
Experience incorporating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) into the creative process to accelerate output and improve content quality.
Openness to experimentation and continuous learning in an evolving, AI-augmented media landscape.
Deep interest in the intersection of business and culture—and motivated to make that intersection feel accessible, smart, and current.
Self-directed and collaborative—you take initiative, elevate talent, and raise the creative bar.
Proficient editing skills (Premiere Pro) and/or strong visual design instincts are a plus.
