Reddit has a flexible first workforce 

We’re looking for an experienced product counsel with 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with 3+ years in-house.  As Counsel / Senior Counsel, you will work closely with Reddit’s consumer product and engineering teams, as well as business marketing to provide legal guidance on a wide range of legal issues, including privacy, copyright, intermediary liability, and content safety.  A successful candidate will be passionate about collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to solve complex legal problems, and working at the cutting edge of law and technology.

What You'll Do:

  • Advise Reddit’s consumer product teams through all stages of product development on how to navigate potential legal risks.
  • Analyze new and existing regulations that are relevant to Reddit’s consumer products, and work with product teams to translate legal requirements into product requirements and implement those requirements.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to help product and business teams anticipate and plan for future regulatory requirements.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships and deep product and industry knowledge.

What We're Looking For:

  • Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.). You are licensed in the United States, and ideally you have legal experience in multiple jurisdictions.
  • 5+ years of legal experience, with 3+ years of in-house experience at a consumer tech company.
  • Global experience working on B2C search, publisher and/or user generated content issues. 
  • Strong background advising marketing and brand protection initiatives on online platforms, including managing copyright, trademark, and rights of publicity at scale.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
  • Ability to assess risk strategically and help clients manage risk while achieving their goals.
  • Program/project management skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize high impact and complex multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.

This job posting may span more than one career level.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:
$216,700$303,400 USD
