Corporate Vice President -Institutional Retirement Income Solutions Lead (Pension Risk Transfer & Defined Contribution Retirement Income)
Position Summary:
The Corporate Vice President will lead the strategic direction and cross-functional leadership of New York Life's Institutional Retirement Income Solutions business. This includes accountability for the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) and Defined Contribution (DC) Retirement Income lines. The role is responsible for developing and executing business strategy, leading a high-performing team, managing financial performance, and serving as the primary point of influence for consultants, fiduciaries, and executive leadership.
This individual will serve as the business lead for institutional retirement income innovation and will drive growth and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities:• Strategic Leadership & Execution• Set and execute long-term strategy for the Institutional Retirement Income Solutions business (PRT & DC Retirement Income).• Drive product innovation and business model transformation to respond to evolving market demands, regulatory changes, and client needs.• People & Organizational Leadership• Influence multiple functional teams (pricing, underwriting, sales, marketing, compliance, operations) through direct and matrixed reports to optimize growth and performance of the business.• Develop and mentor high-performing talent to build future leaders.• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and inclusion across all teams.• Business & Financial Ownership• Own business performance outcomes, including P&L accountability, operating metrics, and growth targets.• Oversee pricing strategy, competitive positioning, and performance measurement.• Strategically develop and manage external partnerships.• Market & Regulatory Influence• Serve as New York Life's representative to key industry bodies, consultants, and fiduciaries.• Positively influence decision makers and fiduciaries via effective positioning of New York Life's value proposition.• Anticipate regulatory developments and proactively shape product and market strategy accordingly.• Enterprise Collaboration• Partner with leaders across Legal, Compliance, Investments, Operations and Finance to ensure operational alignment and risk mitigation.• Influence enterprise-wide priorities and represent the Institutional Retirement Income Solutions business in senior-level forums.
Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.• 12+ years of relevant experience with increasing leadership responsibilities in the retirement, insurance, or investment sectors.• Life and Health license in all 50 states or willingness to acquire.• Proven experience influencing multiple team(s) and contributing to enterprise strategy (managing experience preferred)• Deep expertise in defined benefit/defined contribution pension plans, PRT, and/or institutional retirement income solutions.• Demonstrated ability to drive transformation and scale business operations.• Strong regulatory acumen and external presence in the retirement income or financial services industry.• Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $175,500-$200,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
