The Corporate Development Director will serve as a strategic leader responsible for driving Perficient's inorganic growth strategy through mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and corporate venture initiatives. This senior role will report to the VP of Corporate Development or Chief Strategy Officer and will have responsibility for leading major transactions, developing strategic initiatives, and potentially managing a team of corporate development professionals. The Director will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on strategic matters and play a pivotal role in shaping Perficient's long-term growth trajectory. This is a remote work opportunity.


Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Partner with C-suite executives to develop and refine corporate strategy, identifying growth opportunities aligned with company objectives
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive M&A strategy across geographies, service lines, and capabilities

Transaction Leadership

  • Lead complex, high-value M&A transactions from origination through post-close integration
  • Drive deal sourcing through proactive outreach, relationship management, and strategic targeting
  • Oversee comprehensive due diligence processes including financial, operational, legal, and strategic workstreams
  • Lead negotiations with counterparties, advisors, and other stakeholders
  • Structure creative transaction solutions to address complex deal dynamics and maximize value creation
  • Make final recommendations on valuations, deal terms, and go/no-go decisions

Team Management & Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing corporate development team
  • Establish best practices, processes, and tools to enhance team effectiveness
  • Allocate resources and oversee multiple concurrent deal processes
  • Foster culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Develop talent through coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities

External Relationship Management

  • Cultivate deep relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, business brokers, and industry intermediaries
  • Maintain active dialogue with targets, partners, and other stakeholders in the ecosystem
  • Serve as primary point of contact for inbound inquiries and opportunities

Integration & Value Creation

  • Oversee post-merger integration planning and execution for major transactions
  • Define synergy targets and track realization against plan
  • Partner with business unit leaders to ensure successful cultural integration and operational alignment
  • Conduct portfolio reviews and post-acquisition assessments to inform future strategy
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred; 
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity preferably in technology services, digital consulting, or professional services industries
  • Minimum 2 years leading or co-leading M&A transactions with demonstrated track record of successful deal execution
  • Extensive experience across all phases of M&A lifecycle including sourcing, diligence, negotiation, and integration
  • Expert-level financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
  • CFA, CPA, or other relevant certifications
  • Experience managing and developing teams
  • Proficient in leveraging AI technologies to drive innovation, support strategic initiatives, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $149,200 to $238,700. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential variable compensation programs.
